Grinding out these tough wins is so encouraging with a bunch of our main guys out. Feeling really good about where this team is headed.

Strahm blew the lead so it was tied when Strahm left. They took the lead again next inning so Strahm blew Wheeler’s chance at a win and then got the win himself. Second Wheeler start in a row he blew Wheeler’s win.
@sgshumblecrumb60466 ай бұрын
@@jamesruger6143 Because Strahm blew Wheeler's lead. Wins as a stat is meaningless. The guy who blows the lead can end up with the win in certain scenarios because it's all about who last pitched when the lead was being taken so Strahm got it for giving up the lead and then having our offense score immediately in the next half inning.
@rtee486 ай бұрын
@@sgshumblecrumb6046Wins as a stat is not meaningless. First of all, anything in baseball with win in it is never meaningless. Second of all, that's how starting pitchers are judged. For immediate awards and the ultimate award. Not to mention for personal gains i.e. pay increase. Are their losses meaningless too?

Though, I'm a Mets (Lindor), Yankees (Judge), Mariners (J. Rod), Braves (Acuna), & Padres (Machado) fan, I do watch the highlights of all other baseball teams & I do have to admit, the Phillies, Trae Turner has the smoothest, coolest, half, home slide that I've ever seen in MLB, he's got serious home sliding skills, I just like to give credit where credit is due. Also, unfortunately, on a positive, then, negative note about Bryce Harper, though, to me the Phillies, Bryce Harper is definitely on my list, one of the top 6 best, baseball players in MLB, what turns me off Big-time about Harper, is, that in my honest viewpoint, Harper gets the MLB trophy for the Biggest cry baby, argumentive, hot headed player, that MLB has ever had, why??, because in almost every other third Phillies game, he's getting into heated disagreements & sometimes he's in the face of the home plate umpire(s) arguing with the umpires if he gets struck out, he needs to grow up, take it like a Real man & go & enroll to take some anger management classes & accept it, if he gets struck out, because, if he thinks that the home plate umpires are going to only call balls on him, then, he's going to unnecessarily, keep raising his blood pressure in every other third game disagreeing & at times arguing with the home plate umpires, if the umpire calls a strike out on him, Geez...just my honest viewpoints, no pun intended to the Phillies team, they have a decent team.
