I cried throughout this whole video. I have gone through this exact thing with my son and heroin addiction. You cannot help them - the only person that can save them is themselves. Hoffman was my favorite actor. This is so very tragic. God bless you, Mimi. I can only imagine your sense of loss.

And God bless you too. Until an addict is brave enough to heal their own pain, that is sadly the legacy they give to others who love them. I wish you and your child all the best in the world, I can't imagine how your heart must shatter every single day, and the strength it takes to pick yourself up each morning and continue to love them despite of it.

Methadone
@jamesdunn9609
@jamesdunn9609 3 жыл бұрын
@@insatiablecuriosity2555 It's a horrible substitute. It is definitely better than heroin, but it has a longer half-life and is just as hard to stop. Methadone maintenance programs aren't actually treatment for the addict. They are actually designed to protect the community FROM the addict. By switching the addiction from heroin to methadone, the addict can be more functional so those programs do have some positive effects for them, but they remain addicts. What those programs actually do is lower the transmission rates of communicable diseases (leading to lower medical costs and increased community health) and the need to commit crimes to pay for their addiction (leading to lower rates of property crimes, petty theft, shoplifting, etc.). There has to be a better answer than this.

A huge loss indeed. The rough thing about addiction though is that there’s often no way they’ll get better until they hit rock bottom. It’s taught in alanon that healthy boundaries must be set in order to not enable the addiction and you really can’t blame Mimi for doing so, especially for the safety of her children.

As children or young adults, could we be taught more truthfully about the nature of pain, and the many many ways in which it is experienced ? These can be such cataclysmic times in our lives. Why will some people accept, rebuild and heal ... and others will not. (It is now Oct 2022. I hope that you have stepped through the relapse that you wrote of.)

Even to this day, no one knows how many runs she achieved, but Philip's countless awards, which filled the island of Madagascar and the country Australia, never came close to her countless runs around the world. Countless....that which cannot be counted, is like Mimi who has not stopped running to this day. When she drops dead, we can finally count her runs! Which will be counted because they are not countless. Countless is the ineptitude and the size of the brain worm in the documentary writer-narrator's skull...which is infinity!

This symptoms just show you that you are not who you should be and that you are ready to find the source of this pain to manage to evoulv from it.. you are not alone!
