I have asked the “If You’re God, then WHY?” Why did I lose my mother at the age of 18? Why am I still dealing with certain pains that I experienced in childhood? Why do I have to deal with certain things? But then my heart and tears sings the second verse and the bridge. Lord You are God and I’m not alone in this. In THEE oh Lord do I put my trust. I don't know how many years ago it was, maybe 15 years ago? I had just lost my job unexpectedly. I heard the guys were doing a mini concert at a Christian book store in my area. I was so discouraged and knew hearing them sing would be more than just entertainment. So I walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus, looking forward to hearing them and being lifted up. But the bus came by and didn't stop! I was so dismayed and stunned. As I fought tears, someone I barely knew pulled her car over near the bus stop and asked if I needed a ride somewhere. Praise the Lord! I was a little late but still got to hear plenty including Friend of God. Afterwards I went up and told them about losing my job and how their music reminded me that God is always in control and He is always working on my behalf.

I shared this wonderful song with my brother in law who is still hurting deeply after losing his wife to cancer just a few weeks before their only son graduated from high school. He is a dedicated Christian but just can't get past the (Why God) question. To see such a strong man still shed tears of sorrow 3 months after her death breaks my heart. "There is a God who catches his tears in a bottle" is such a comfort for him and our close knit family. God is God and God is good! Thank you!

Two years ago, I was suddenly struck with mortal fear that I wasn't truly saved. It made me confront natural Christian questions, that I never wanted to address before then. Throughout it, I'd try so desperately to pray that God would bring me assurance or salvation, whichever I was missing. But I also remember I often was angry with God, because it looked as though He was letting me go to hell, when He promised to save me. I now see that was foolish, but I am grateful that He brought me through that. Praise my God.
