1000$ wow... over here in Sweden they're more like 1850$. Tikkas sure are the best out of the box rifle when you have a budget.

I literally just picked this exact rifle up a few weeks ago and stuck it in a KRG Bravo chassis. I'm stoked to see where this goes!

This is very exciting! The Tikka + SHV is exactly what I’d planned for my first one (but the 20” .308 for learning recoil control). Would be amazing if you kept it as you have it there and really showed how important skill is over gear. Or at least keep it as is for a bit before upgrading. We’ve seen a lot of upgraded rifles and many of us don’t want to spend that much.

I just bought a Tikka T3X in stainless for hunting up here in Alaska. I was surprised by all the plastic...plastic trigger guard, plastic bolt release, plastic magazine, etc. Upgrades including stock would cost me > the $700 purchase price of the rifle so I'm only going to replace the plastic bolt release. I am not a long range shooter and hand load for hunting...most of my kills are less than 200 yards up here in Alaska. I know my 1976 Remington 700s will last a life time of Alaska hunting, not so sure about the Tikka with all that plastic.

Imagine if you just kept it just as it is right now and go shoot matches with it. It'll prove that money and equipment doesn't buy you points. It's all about the shooter's skill level.

Great video man! I started off with the ctr. Dropped in a Bravo. I’ve since upgraded the barrel and dropped it in an MPA. She shoots with the best of em! I do have the Midas trigger which I prefer over the timney.

Nice setup for sure. The scope is a little beyond what’s probably needed for a budget build, but a great scope nonetheless.

Phil is the reason you went with the CTR is because you were always going to put it in a chassis or gives you the option to? Only asking because I was looking at the T3x TACT A1 originally until I was given you video by a friend and been watching the CTR VLOG. So just curious what your thoughts are since I am stuck between what one would be best to go with. I assume you could do the exact same thing you did with the CTR with the TACT A1 just cost more $ since you would getting rid of the A1 chassis.

Hello, I'm from France and I really like your videos. I plan to buy the same rifle and I would like to know how far did you shoot with it? is your scope lens 56mm? what mounting collar did you put on your riflescope please thank you

Anyone who wants a great stock for the Tikka should check out the GRS Bifrost
@Ouwkackemann4 жыл бұрын
If I may bring in my thought. The clearance of the scope in the front should be a tad bigger, so that it doesn´t touch the barrel when it "swings". But that´s just my way I would do it, ymmv. Cheers from another CTR owner.

20 inches seems like a really short barrel for a 6.5? Or is the creedmoor less sensetive to that than the 6,5x55 SE?

Love your content. With that said, PLEASE turn down the audio levels on your music track. If I turn down my speaker so the music is at a comfortable level, I can't hear what you are saying. I'm having to turn it down when the music plays then back up when your speak.

Hi phill. I would have picked a varmint stainless 24”. Heavier barrel but unfortunately only comes with the standard 6 round plastic magazines If they would combine the varmint barrel with the Ctr mag system and a 20 MOA rail. Then tikka would be onto a winner

Does the CTR have a similar footprint to the T3X or T3, with regards KRG Bravo chassis, or MDT chassis that are similar?
@straycat623 жыл бұрын
The CTR is a T3X, just with a detachable higher capacity magazine. As I understand the CTR footprint is a little bigger in the magwell area that the standard T3X because the magazine is double stack type. I read a couple articles where you had to inlet the replacement stock for the CTR if it is just a standard T3X replacement stock. Maybe someone else can provide more information.
@straycat623 жыл бұрын
#2 I am also under the understanding you can "turn" your standard T3X into more of a CTR style buy using some Accuracy International style bottom metal and replacing with a CTR footprint stock/inletting the stock. May not be a 100% correct but you might research further.

I know this is asking a lot and the response is simply to save. However, is there any other optic that isn’t bumping the 1K mark as far as money goes.

What made you choose a 6.5cm over the 7mm rem mag?
@dhayes19952 жыл бұрын
Huge distance man. I’d maybe compare a 6.5 to maybe a 308 but the 7mm would be compared more approximately to a 300 win. Although you can definitely “target shoot a 7mm, you could also shoot bear with one. The 6.5 also a lot cheaper and less recoil thus better follow ups/impact adjustments
