Hey Brian my dear friend, our monthly budget has definitely gone up, just due to the fact that everything is going up. We must have spent close to 100,000 pesos for the month of January. But that also includes our moving expenses. Hopefully, February the expenses will come down some. Our grocery bill is usually around 15,000 pesos per month. I have myself starting to cut back on a few luxurious items. We just need to keep watching the budget brother. Thank you Brian my dear friend for sharing this awesome video. Please stay safe and healthy, and God bless you, lot, Borges, Miguel, Hannah grace, Bing Bing(Sam), Reynalyn, Reynalyn's daughter, Adrian, Chubbs, and the rest of your beautiful family. And may God bless Batchoy, B-2, Rocky, Mama Earl(RIP), and little snow always.😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Thank you, Brian, for the reality check. So many of these bloggers push the unrealistic budget of 800 to a 1000 bucks a month, which I guess you could, but who would.

Hi Brian,we live in Pangasinan and built our home and yes it's in my wife's name of course.Anyway, your expenses in the province will be half or less than half in the province. We met a few years back at Tequila Reef, and took a picture.Anyhow, after you adjust a little you will never want to move from the province.Just stay busy by working out, walking and meeting the vendors so you can shop fresh food in the morning 😊

We own our house and land so have no rent, in Davao. Water, we sunk a well (cost about 40k pesos), I've had the water tested and it complies with international standards for drinking water. Been drinking and cooking with it for years and never an issue. Water Department wanted 60k to connect us, no thanks. Internet and Netflix is 2k, electric is 6k (slowly going solar). Solar to run the house will cost on total about 200k so after 3 years will be free and any excess we can sell back to the electric company. Butane for cooking around 600 pesos per month. We buy meats, fruits and veggies at the market and the prices are reasonable. We have 2 pedigree cats and 4 dogs, 1 a pedigree, and they cost quite a bit to feed and groom, but that is not a necessity. We have a car but locally we tend to use trikes. A return journey to the mall/market for 2 people is 60 pesos. I only have 1 son left at school, the other 2 are working, and that costs 4k per month. All still a hell of a lot cheaper than the west. All depends on your income.

Dang Brian I thought I spent alot. But it has definitely go up here in Lipa City. I am looking at $1800 to 2000.00 a month. 12,500 pesos or 230.00 a month for a 2 bdrm 2 bath apartment, 6000.00 pesos a month for electric or a little over $100.00, 1200 pesos for internet, 750.00 for water, 800 pesos for a tank of propane, groceries are the biggie at about 25,000 pesos a month. Eating out is around 3000.00. And then family at 4000.00 pesos a month. Animals which is 1 dog and 3 cats whuch are all rescues about 4000.00 a month, so it adds up. Not to mention a trip once every 2 months which is around 20,000 pesos. Still it is much cheaper than the states.

I've been retired 2 years. My age appropriate wife is from Cebu. Married 10+ years. We reside in NE Texas. Our annual cost of living is +/- $80,000.00. High end home, desired neighborhood, we have multiple properties, and too many hard assets to list. Again,my wife is from Cebu. We have looked hard at replicating our life style there and a solid estimate is $60,000.00 a year. The question is why. Move from a safe first world country with more amenities than can be listed to a polluted third world country with isolated "nice" areas. What is the point? Currently every major river in all of the Philippines is so polluted the water is deadly. In our area of Texas the water supplies for our town are 2 lakes and a river. And if you are near all 3 the water can be consumed straight out of them without fear of death.

You pay more for electricity there than I do for gas and electric in South Carolina. My fallback plan is to move to the Philippines. I would build a house as we have family property there. My monthly military retirement plus VA money would afford me a very comfortable lifestyle as I would not need to rent and the house would be paid for from the equity from the house I currently own.

Very interesting, I'm sure if you were living in the USA and living the same lifestyle you would be paying more than double that, maybe triple. Heck my mortgage payment for my home in Anchorage, Alaska is over $2700 a month and that at a 2.5% interest rate. I live in San Roque Bitas, Arayat and pay comparable prices as you pay and like you, I don't go for want. I live an extremely comfortable lifestyle.

I grew up in Anchorage, has always been expensive. Not as expensive as San Diego though. I stay in Makati on and off and rent is 840 a month but all inclusive so electric, water and other services in the condo building is covered. I didn't like the Philippines much when I stayed a year and a few months but after a break I don't mind it much now. I'm in Japan and will be back in Makati at the end of the month. I do want to hit boracay again I had a blast there

Maintain three air cons, and electrical costs, servicing aircons. Oh in relation to my family, 4 daughters, 3 stepgrandchildren, maid/nanny, housekeeper, maintenence man, ground keeper, college fees x 3, High School fees, groceries, veggies, electricity, water, holidays, house maintenance, dinners, cars, petrol, maintenance, repairs, insurances, registration, gifts, birthday parties, 18ths debuts, visa fees, visa runs, medicals: ceasarin sections x 3, birthing fees x 3 hospital visits x 10, never ending nappies, baby foods, formula milk, clothes and more clothes, jewelry, mobile phones, loads, electronics, furniture, electronics replacement and repairs, shoppee, Lazada, food delivery, Total around 1.2 million pesos per year give or take a few thousand.

That seems like a LOT of money, especially for the Philippines. Your retirement from the Penn State Prison System must pay a lot more than my brother gets from retiring from AZ system. He's looking forward to being able to fully retire to get SSI, because his pension doesn't pay for squat. He wanted to stay longer, but took a smack to an eye at work, and it was enough to mess up his vision, and he knew he would not be able to get re-certified for weapons because of it.

It all depends on - "how" - and - "where" - - - both in the US & in the Philippines. --- Family life like yours is much more costly than for a single frugal elderly person by themself. --- That would be me - I'm alone & would have frugal needs for a simple comfortable life. -- Several US expats are retired in the Lipa City - to - Trace Martires areas - on about $800/mo. recurring budget expenses ! -- Not extras or travel or vices. -- -- -- The budget you describe in the province is an extreme - but illustrates what is possible over there. > Well done !

Property deeds in the Philippines, are a nightmare. Homes don’t even have addresses. An address may show up on Google Maps but there’s no home address on the property. Unless you’re buying from a foreigner, who has already gone through at least one year of hell to get a proper deed to a property, you are taking an extreme risk of being conned. The government gives a family that lives on the property for 100 years the right to live on that property going forward, but they still don’t own the property . People sell these property’s . There are different types of deeds like a tax deed. A tax deed is a paper saying that you paid the tax on a property, but that doesn’t mean you own the property, and it’s worthless, yet people sell with these tax deeds. When it comes to property in the Philippines, Rent !

@@alaskanwhiskeyright it’s like dudes lack basic common sense. There is no way 3000 a month isn’t enough. These dudes are abusing women and drugs that’s why it’s not enough. When you’re a serial trick it’s never going to be enough. Tricking thousands on young women is the problem.
