A renaissance man was a polymath....a person who loved all aspects of culture and learning and that was Montaigne. Good video, fellow Montaigne admirer. Cheers!

Good commentary on one aspect of Montaigne. Would have been better organized if he had stated at the beginning what his focus was. And more historical context. For example, Montaigne was ahead of his time in advocating cultural relativism and in being the first to write in an essay style. But, on the whole, I learned from him and liked his insights.

The problem is when it comes to other cultures ,West is traditionally bases its evaluation of others on Christian ethics and value system ,nit objective ,the view is tinged with sexual gratification ,it is beyond the minds of west to appreciate plurality of gods monogamy of sex thus spoiling the mind sexually and soul theologically,in my observation

As western values have overwhelmed the world, and the Christian ethic dominates, so will our historical revisionism see barbarity as ever more barbaric than before, even by the cultures who absorbed the cultural colonialism of Europe.

Does it matter? You could just hang out and not use language. They aren't good enough I threw them out.
