Throughout this episode I was thinking the whole time, why does there need to be a deeper reality than the one we already percieve.

Even our experience, when enhanced with tools like microscope, shows us that without tools we perceive less than it really is, even other than it really is. Then we deduce that what we percieve with tools might also differ from smth that can be seen with better tools. Then we go crazy.

It's because the way we perceive the world is flawed. When you see the color red, that color doesn't actually exist in the universe beyond our perception. There are no red objects in the universe. In the same way, nothing in the universe has a smell, a feel, a taste, a sound, etc. So it seems we can't actually perceive the way the universe IS, only the way our brain makes it appear to us.

In this episode we don't see any new argument in addition to old Greek sceptics.

Clearly from someone who doesn't understand empiricism.

Empiricism does have its limits. Did our understanding of the world change with the invention of the telescope?
