Who's had steamed fish before?! Would you make it like this??
@gregormiller40375 жыл бұрын
I live on the American River, and been fishing trout from the late 60's on, from the small lakes along 80 to the Macks and Kokanee that spawn in August-ish near and around Richardson. Sometime I pan fry, but I love to make a large tin foil pouch, bed of some onion, sliced summer veggies on hand, butter and white wine if avail, rest of the veggies on top and wrap tight, throw in the fire, on the grill or in the oven, my fav.

steam smaller fish, better taste.
@Sunny_Tang5 жыл бұрын
@@sunnyguo5429 agreed. also, white pepper over black pepper although it's more of a personal preference

I've steamed and smoked whole fish a few times. I like stuffing them with fresh herbs and lemon/orange. Adds i nice flavor and aroma 👍🏻

Have you tried circle hooks for rockfishing? That’s what I use in San Diego and it’s a lot easier to keep em on the hook and not have to worry so much about the hookset.
@jimmyliang47645 жыл бұрын
That is the TRUE Asian style for cooking fish. Love that way. I do that every time we eat fish.
@staledreams5 жыл бұрын
I'm from Hawaii and notice that California anglers on KZbin uses a huge piece of fresh bait on their hooks. For folks from Hawaii a whole squid would last for at least a half day. Usually a squid is cleaned and sliced up into strips.
@DogDudeDrone5 жыл бұрын
It seems the larger lingcod successfully come out to play with the larger squid, usually we keep it small in strips as well.

Love the vids man, really love the catch and cooks. We use keitechs a lot down here in San Diego, but I've never rockfished with em! I'll definitely be trying that next time, only thing I was really hoping you would do is switch the red cherry with the grey colored one to see if the fish just happen to hit the bottom rig more than the high rig or was it really a color preference. Tight lines!
