So one thing I've learned in my self study is that in the ancient east is was common practice for KINGS to ride on donkeys. only when going to war did they ride horses. Jesus was declaring his kingship and the people "got it" in that moment. Just a fun fact lol... Thank you for the podcast! I love love love listening 🥰

Tell Phil that I as a little girl, I played marbles as well. Use to fight for the big fat marbles (forget what we called them). It was bad when I would lose. My daddy used to threaten to whip me if I continue to play marbles with the boys. Mom would call me in before he got home from work to get my knuckles washed up. He knew I played the whole time.

Psa 50:22 Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you. Job 40:7 “Now brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall inform Me. Would you really annul My justice? Would you condemn Me to justify yourself? Do you have an arm like God’s? Can you thunder with a voice like His? Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and clothe yourself with honor and glory. Unleash the fury of your wrath; look on every proud man and bring him low. Look on every proud man and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand." 1 Cor 3:18 Take care that no one deceives himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

Isa 44:13 Then the wood-carver measures a block of wood and draws a pattern on it. He works with chisel and plane and carves it into a human figure. He gives it human beauty and puts it in a little shrine. He cuts down cedars; he selects the cypress and the oak; he plants the pine in the forest to be nourished by the rain. Then he uses part of the wood to make a fire. With it he warms himself and bakes his bread. Then-yes, it’s true-he takes the rest of it and makes himself a god to worship! He makes an idol and bows down in front of it! He burns part of the tree to roast his meat and to keep himself warm. He says, “Ah, that fire feels good.” Then he takes what’s left and makes his god: a carved idol! He falls down in front of it, worshiping and praying to it. “Rescue me!” he says. “You are my god!” Such stupidity and ignorance! Their eyes are closed, and they cannot see. Their minds are shut, and they cannot think. The person who made the idol never stops to reflect, “Why, it’s just a block of wood! I burned half of it for heat and used it to bake my bread and roast my meat. How can the rest of it be a god? Should I bow down to worship a piece of wood?” The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask, “Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie?” Job 38:1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for actiona like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements-surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb, when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, and prescribed limits for it and set bars and doors, and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?" Job 39:19 “Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane? Do you make him leap like the locust? His majestic snorting is terrifying. He paws in the valley and exults in his strength; he goes out to meet the weapons. He laughs at fear and is not dismayed; he does not turn back from the sword. Upon him rattle the quiver, the flashing spear, and the javelin. With fierceness and rage he swallows the ground; he cannot stand still at the sound of the trumpet. When the trumpet sounds, he says ‘Aha!’ He smells the battle from afar, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

Psa 4:2 How long, Will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness And seek falsehood? Rom 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen.

Matt 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Luke 19:45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. Matt 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. John 2:13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

There was alll the prophecy that told the Jews Jesus was coming. Jesus came and they STILL didn't accept him and instead they sent him to his death (or to His life, Jase🙂). A lot of the people were expecting Jesus to ride in on a steed like a superhero and crush the empire. Not the true message. Not prophecy. Jesus was humble. He was quiet. Calm. Peaceful. God. Jesus wept because he knew they didn't all get it and that a lot would be doomed if they did not accept Him as their Savior.

Seek first that which is already within you...the Kingdom of God with is near to everyone. Enter through the narrow gate in your heart which is Jesus Christ Our Savior and THE way truth and the light...THE Only name by which we must be saved. Be still and listen more than talk. Meditate on his word. Pray and do good things in secret as Our Maker sees in secret. Pray His will be done. Not ours. Pray Jesus do you know me? He will know few...and, MANY...He will say: "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Amen? Many called and few chosen. ______ MANY ARE CALLED: Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. FEW ARE CHOSEN: Matt 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

I really think the scripture is literal not allegorical when it speaks of being born again. If you follow the Messiah you shall wake up in the Kingdom one day born of the Spirit Until then you and I are still flesh and blood purifying our Spirits to prepare to bust out of these egg shells we live in now The notion of making a decision to follow the Messiah I see as repentance turning back to God Just my sixty seven year old two cents

Yes, literally you will not get to heaven if you are not "spiritually" born again. The dead in Christ 1st then rest of believers (born again) on earth will meet in cloud's. This isn't His 2nd coming. That happens after the 7 yr Tribulation. We do decide(choose) to follow Jesus or not. If not, it gets really hot & painful.!

My 2 cents - it's very disheartening to hear a pastor such as Al, whether credentialed or not credentialed, make commercials promoting products who are not on the left or "woke". What I hear is, buy these products, we are not like "those" people - othering if you will. Not everyone who attends your church is as conservative as you - Likewise there are folk who are more conservative than you. I don't undersand why some clergy, famous or not, feel the need to get on a pedestal and promote one party over another - not helpful brother. Regarding the show - it was funny, still watch it. Regarding the podcast, I listen, take what I want and leave what I don't. -Blessings for the journey!

Matthew presents Jesus as the Messiah, Mark presents Jesus as the suffering Servant, Luke as the Man He was and John as who Jesus really is, the Son of God. The earthly ministry of Jesus Christ to the Jews was to show them He was their Messiah. Acts is a record of the fall of Israel and thecalling out of Paul by the risen Lord to be the Apostle to the Gentiles who were without God in the MMLJ gospels. Gentiles were dogs as far as Jews and Jesus were concerned. If you look at Mark almost every scripture starts with And as if to imply the Servant was really busy serving.
