A true master! I've always loved the Hammerfest -painting (the water night scene, the place is from Norway). Sometimes a bit too "choppy" brushwork to me. His "Saint Deni Arc" (not here) reminds me strongly of van Gogh, in a very nice way. A bit too inconsistent output, still.

Your comments are simplistic. Korovin was obviously evolving and adapting different styles. You failed to mention how the brush strokes changed as he was trying to capture light at a certain moment; quick brush strokes to capture the essence and effect of the light. Korovin was one of the great impressionists.
