Fun fact: Scott Whelan (guitarist of Haste the Day was actually one of the OG guitarists for Phinehas. There are youtube videos of him playing one of their old Phinehas songs.

You guys picked up on some hints of southern metal in their sound here and there. They've flashed bits of that sound at various times throughout the years. I think it's most prevalent on "Salting the Mine" from their sophomore record THE LAST WORD IS YOURS TO SPEAK. Check it if you get a chance!

Previous album Dark Flag I agree is worth checking out even if its kinda hit or miss. The album before that, Till the End, is a straight 10/10 for me, better than the fire itself. Like it's worth dropping whatever ur doing and listening to it rn
