12/31/96 was supposed to be my first show but it didn’t happen til 97. I always regretted missing Bohemian Rhapsody…can’t believe that over 25 years later I’d finally get to hear Trey play that Brian May solo. Absolutely unreal. Thank you Phish!!

I was at 12/31/02 and 3/6/09. Both Piper and Fluffhead had legendary reactions from the crowd. But that moment during Bohemian was the loudest and rowdiest I’ve ever seen or heard the crowd. The energy was absolutely epic

To me, the second set really had it all... just bad ass playing into and during 2001, then emotional, memories of all the years past and present... the NYE set stuff just seemed fitting for what the show already made me feel... saw my first show in 94... grew up and literally lived my life with this band , listening to the music, playing it myself, and traveling and seeing the shows all over... all the adventures.... friends who are still here and some not... backwards down the number line indeed. So blessed to have lived during the time of phish... hopefully the rides not over yet, of course, but even if it ended tomorrow, so blessed!

This NYE run was the best time I’ve had in years. Nothing like PHISH at MSG, and the fact that 40 years later they are absolutely crushing it! This was so much fun and brought back so many memories. It’s been an amazing 25 years for me, so thank you for all the joy you’ve given me Ps- that 11:00 bohemian was one of the rowdiest moments I ever saw , especially since 3/6/09 fluff

This was such a well executed set! The callback gags all flowed from one another so seamlessly and there were so many that a dull moment was impossible to be had. Then again, is there ever a dull moment with this band? Wow. I also particularly loved how each song just kind of came out of nowhere to the point that it basically became a "WHAT!? NO WAY!" fest for all of us. Phish spared no expense for the celebration of their 40th year and it was such an honor to be a part of the party. I don't think this could have been done better any other way. The Piper jam that followed this was fire as well. Here's to another 40! Happy New Year!

I never saw them because I was always worried the crowd would be TOO crazy and hectic. Finally got around to it for these new years shows and it was the friendliest, most LIT crowd I’ve ever been apart of. I think the only way to “get” phish is to just go and see them. There’s no turning back for me.

This is because of the depth of variety of experience is very unique to phish. Even though there are many other great live acts, there is a limit on how much enjoyment you can get from them. I think that's all the poster means - the joy they get is deep and they want even more people to experience that.

I mean she really gets it now and even she will tell people you have to see them live to get it. Now she has seen 5 phish shows in the last year, 3 other bands and now we are going to Mexico for phish. Very happy to have it as something we both can enjoy.

Wow that is awesome you got to so many. The only other NYE show I was at was 2003 and this one easily topped that. I know the 2013 jemp truck gets high ratings and the Meatstick from 2010 was great, but this was like the meatstick one times 10. More music, more variety, less repetitive and a celebration of 40 years.

I worked 10 hours, came home to my shitty mobile home to hang with my dog for a few hours before I go to bed. Going to see Phish next week for the first time, 4/15/23, so I have been binging them. Came across Send in the clones, then the awesome Meatstick MSG NYE, and now this. I have a big smile on my face. Ghost / Bohemian Rhapsody ? Carini with pseudo-naked dudes ? Boy Man God Shit. Things haven't been so good for me the last few years, but I'm dealing. This makes me happy. Wish my wife were still around to share this with, she would have understood why it floats my boat. She probably would have made it her mission to get us tickets to MSG NYE at some point, that's how she was. God I miss her.

This 3rd set almost brought me to tears and almost did again rewatching it. I'm still feeling the love and amazing energy flowing from the music and the crowd. Just perfect in every way. The scrambled noise segue into Jungle Boogie. If I could kiss the air like I'd just described some delicious food!! Seemingly a nod to Pulp Fiction. It sounded so good in there and they'd piped in the snippet of them playin Long Cool Woman and others, I thought some original music was piped in during Bohemian Rhapsody and Jungle Boogie. That Wilson jam and continued refrain of Can You Still Have Fun is amazing music. The multiple drums shuffling, every horn blasting, a shit-ton of singers. I'm gonna make my own version of Wilson with that part as the end, right now! And I wanna finish Trey's lyric! "if i could be naked there, i could be naked anywhere" THANK YOU PHISH. HAPPY BIRTHDAY
