Thank you Phish fans for posting great jams!... I'm a 43 year old family man with 2 kids that works all the time. I don't have the time or money to go see Phish. I love them and have for 20 years. Without you I would be distraught. It's not a lifestyle for me, its about the great music they never cease to produce. Love, PhishPhanPhorever

Hey kindred spirits bro!! I'm in the same boat been a hardcore fan of their music for almost 20 years now and I only seen em live once. Hardcore phans would laugh at that but I'm with you I don't really care about the travelling gypsy lifestyle part of the scene for me it's 100% about the music

I'm in full relating mode with this sentiment. I wonder how many of the listeners of this wonderful band are a little bummed that cars are ditching the 🎉 CD player. 💿 . But somehow we keep the spark alive....

A really kind sweet little pudgy girl grabbed my laughing, I think she saw my knees were buckling, she pulled me into the march, and we i had the ticket in my hand, she got me through the ticket taker, and pulled me along, and then, I started hearing music... sweet, so satisfying, it was like I was in 9th grade, Phish was opening up with the beginning of Led Zepplin "Ramble On", I started choking up, it was really majestic, like yeah, actually, the world, is an incredible place

Thanks muchly for this and other Phish jams. I’ve listened to rock now for over 55 years and this group has really set me off. What sounds they create!!! Sweet guitar playing and so laid back together with all players. Come down under Phish please. The jams fill my days!

I was amazed, seemed like the show was over in 45 minutes, a pair of ladies helped me find my friends in the parking lot, the night was long, it was really beyond my imagination, I end up moving up to mendocino coast, spent the next 7years going to hear music, Phish shows, Living Dead (ie, Ratdog, Phil, Trichromes, etc) Govt Mule, all stuff I'd missed, as I had gotten married at anyway, thanks for asking Nikkya!

"The Egg" in Albany, NY, Empire State Plaza. The place has off-the-charts acoustics and there's not a bad seat in the house...not that Phish ever played there.
@honuman395 жыл бұрын
I'm from Albany. Love the egg and the whole plaza. The Troy Music Hall is the tristate area's acoustic crown jewel. Too bad it's too small for Phish.

I was an old dead head when I first heard phish, but by that time, my marriage had ended, my kids were in college, I was broke, had had a gonad cut late in life, came out of surgery a bad case of chemical sensitivity, couldnt stand the inside of a new car, carpet, cleaning fluids, fresh paint, really, the modern world, at which point, music wasnt all that important, some friends of my sons took me with them, summer of 98, to Alpine Valley, near lake Geneva, and for the first time, I heard Phish live....

I bought a two strip, and waited, and then some friend of her's said it was bunk, and she took me out to find another strip, I bought a two strip, i put it on my tongue, and waited another 20 minutes, nothing was happening, and then I lost those guys going into the ampitheatre, saw some folks for the little Iowa town I lived in, and his wife gave a pair off of her ten strip... and I put it on my tongue... and i tasted metal... then I remembered, and as they were speaking to me, they began to flow, and I heard a roman legion, about half female, but, they were roman soldiers, marching, in perfect unison, in sandals, on the parking lot gravel into the show

She put my hands on to a guard rail, metal pole railing about midway up from the stage, and I stood there and watched the show, she came and went, she brought other kids that danced with me, while they played Wilson, the stage covering, the part above their heads behind and above the bank, turned into glowing writhing snakes, lovingly intertwined, but moving fast, the stage, somehow, looked like the Roman colliseiurn, it was maybe the best moment of my life

as soon as I ate that last one, I could taste the stainless steel, very clearly... it was a very beautiful, sunny afternoon, I looked up, and people were lining up to enter the ampitheatre, it sound like they were marching, in unison, all those kids were wearing sandals, i could hear them slapping the gravel parking lot like a Roman legion, my legs were weak, I lost the girl who had helped me, but was grabbed up by some kids going in, and they helped me... I couldnt not believe what I began to hear... I ask the girls that were supporting me, I said, "is that Phish?" They laughed and said, "Yeah... of course!" I asked them if they'd heard of Lead Zepplin, they laughed again... it was tearing me apart... it was the opening of "Ramble On"...

One of the reasons I love "Carini" so much is the opening chords remind me of the beginning of "Kashmir".

One of the kids I knew had a girlfriend who was a bit of a Phishead, and I ask her to find me a little blotter, it had been at least 20 years, and I felt, well, not ready, but something... so I tried a couple... nothing, then we went to another supplier, tried 2 more, nothing, then, some guy she knew, was for sure, and he looked at me, and he didnt say it quite like "old man, just take one", but that was what he meant...
