Cool self referential Phish stats: The 2nd time Phish played Fikus was the only other time they opened the second set with Buried Alive. That show (7/29/98) was also the show where they played the Bathtub Gin that many consider the best Phish jam ever. And they had played an 18 minute Gin just before this, which is definitely also a contender. 😊

Bro that’s so cool. I love how they’ll play the same songs at the same venues and whatnot… and on certain dates like this. Trey must look up setlists from whatever date it is from previous years when contemplating though the day on what to play at the show.

@@camtron nothing. its just a blah lil space filler that does nothing for me personally and from the sounds of it, does nothing for the band either. Thank God it was only 3-4 minutes long. I wish they would do Swept Away more.... and for the record i wasnt hating, just offering some reasoning behind the 800 show gap.

I don't think they had the experience necessary to do anything with it at the time, but their playing is so cohesive now it genuinely wouldn't shock me to see a few cool jams come out of it in the next couple of years. Or they could just shelve it again idk. The bassline is cool and creepy, but yeah the song as a whole, not that great. You just never know with these guys though.
