I'd add WW1 aircraft/tanks by making a whole different tech tree. basically: tabs for period (WW1, WW2, modern), and have each one be its own tech tree, own BR, own maps

Or different modes, let you start where you want. Kinda like Enlisted does campaigns, they could do Eras. WW1, WW2, Cold War and/or Modern. They can flesh out low numbers by adding... idk, mobile artillery vehicles? Resupply trucks... mine layers/clearing vehicles. I get the whole anti-artillery due to WOT, but it could just be very low velocity rounds, that you aim similarly to the Sturmpanzer 2 when you snipe with it (no? Just me? Okay). Maybe make a system similar to Enlisted's mortar system, where pings in the map show a mil to adjust to. Maybe make it inaccurate by a bit (gun or ping) like Aircraft are. Just because World of Tanks has it and it's quite powerful, doesn't mean it's not doable. Granted... these are decent/"not half bad" ideas, so unlikely to come. And yes, I've thought of this before. Put it on the forum/subreddit.

@samu1040 samu1040 The low tier French tanks are bad well because they are the oldest tanks in the game with most designed in the late 20's and produced in the 30's and they face 1942 to 1950 tanks like the swedish with adpds witch make armor useless or Heat german shells that didn't existed until 1943, so yeah a gap of 25 years make them not as good and Gaijin still didn't gave the French their 25/37/57/75 mm APDS Sabot that they invented and used first in battle.

World War 1 Armour Warfare had a lot of armoured cars & trucks, especially on the Eastern Front (Germany v Russia). As for Western Front, maybe a dynamic map with mini objective markers that you get fill with troops taking trenches around it, that give low level arty support, that you have to get to help you take main objective.

Actually they can really add WW1 aircraft easily. I think problem will be game modes. Because ground targets will be those boxy tanks of that time, AAAs and etc will be different. But İmagine! An air RB mode that where you try to defend ally or destroy enemy Zeppelin like a capital ship! Another is you can defend 3-5 of those big cardbord like ( :D ) bombers and other is trying to kill them. It would be really really cool :) I hope they will add them

I have a few ideas on how War Thunder could include WW1 period vehicles. What if they introduced "rank 0" with a BR range of 0.0 to 0.7? It could be quick to research them cause it could be seen as the "training" rank to teach players the basics on small maps. I feel like we could get a really good group discussion on the whole thing

There are even ground attack vehicles that could work. The hansa-brandenburg g.ik is a good example, it's a ww1 bomber that mounted a 50mm Skoda mortar in its nose. Or the aeg g.ivk which mounted a 20mm auto cannon in the nose.

You chose the D.500 series, I found the D.371/3 far better for dogfighting they handle better, turn better, I did surprisingly well with it ... but of course you don't have the cough! 20mm, but then its not a German Machinekanonne mit zuperduper blitzen ammunizion. There are a couple of hidden gems the Br.693AB2 can get along quite well at BR and people are often caught out how well she turns and handles.

To Add WW1 stuff. Stretch BR's up to 15.0 or 20.0 - Decompress the cluster-f*ck that is 7.0-9.0. Add WW1 into Reserves and lowest BR's. Done. Immediately the game becomes more fun across all tiers and better balanced. Also allows for a new top-tier that can have New-New tanks, AFV's and planes.

Next match, you can upgrade to the highest tier tank that you killed in the previous match. Rinse n' repeat. See how many matches it takes to get to top-tier for each nation.
