38:15 HW - if a cell is performing life processes(respiration, excretion, digestion, growth), then it is considered living, lacking nucleus is not a deciding factor for life or death. Also prokaryotes lack nucleus but are still considered liking. Viruses are exception as they are just DNA/RNA(depending on virus) that are non living acids, when other cells engulf these DNA/RNA, they are controlled by them and then considered living. P.S. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought this too. In the first chapter we learnt that defining property is cellular organisation and metabolism. So if metabolic reactions are taking place inside the cell then it's living... Hope we're both correct.😅

Hello mam ❤️ One question. Q. You said that organs like pancreas have high proteins and have high amount of enzyme. But the question is that in endomembrane system we have studied that SMOOTH ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM contains lipods only no proteins and no ribosome And hence pancreas is an example of SMOOTH ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM so how does it contains more amount of proteins and enzyme ?

There are cells that live without nucleus (RBCs for example) and it's related to the function of the cell. However, if you take a cell with nucleus and remove it, cell won't live.
