A brilliant performance and so deserving of recognition, not only for the dancing but for the message it sends-that it is more than okay for boys to dance. This was the "crusade" of my late husband, the dancer/director Gene Kelly. He did a television special about it in 1958 called "Dancing, A Man's Game." It is amazing to me that 66 years later there is still a stigma about boys in dance. These young men have been teased, bullied and the recipients of hate mail. It is time for this to stop. They are the voice of the future.

As a male dancer that is now 70+ years old, the bullying back then was hard, however, now adays I feel it is even more difficult because of social media. I am so proud of each of these young men the mentorship, comradery and the love of dance that each of them share reflects masculinity in a new and more powerful way and sets an example for men to follow. Well done, thank you @pwk1479 for the wonderful reflection of your late husband. Thank you Bruno for your soft heart.

That must have been special for the two of you @denisemarie0901 and @paulinebubble to see your grandsons on the stage. I suspect most of these boys are there because they have supportive families, starting at home and extending out to grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins, etc. I can feel your smile and joy all the way here to Australia. I didn’t see the final, so I don’t know if they got into it. Nonetheless, their two performances seemed to come with cut onions, and I don’t see how that happens; they were superb, and Burno’s comments about angles (some gentle and some tough) was right on the money. For me, the takeaway is one of the reasons I dont like the finals of this show. The best performers/performances don’t get through because of the voting, and many people, unfortunately, wouldn’t appreciate the skill your grandsons have and the whole troupe. Sadly, they haven’t got the prize money to develop a permanent rehearsal centre. I hope that Bruno does take an interest in the group, and other wealthier people in the arts may have seen them and may help fundraise the money they deserve to continue to grow their unique skills. I am also pleased that Bruno mentioned the choreography. Whoever is the choreographer and all their teachers should be acknowledged to get these boys to this performance. Phoenix Boys' profile has been significantly raised, and sometimes, it is not the people who come first in these types of shows that grow into very well-known performers. ❤❤❤

Star of the show for me. So much multiculturalism in the series but this was our best act, this type of dance is deeply rooted in british and western culture they held our true values in the arts the performance was top class and simon dismissed it like it was nothing. Leighton was brilliant too and he was given the cold shoulder.

Simon's comment about kids sitting at home playing Stupid Video games about kids nowadays was so on point and needed to be said loud and clear for all adults to hear, especially parents who allow them to do so all hours of the day and night. Some video games brainwash a child's mind, never mind the addiction of them.

I was crying when the little one took the book to Bruno; and when Bruno reached out when the ones around the judges did the reach. Not only that, the world 🌍 needs to hear this message at the moment. They need the Wild Card, of all acts deserving of this, it is the Phoenix Boys! I hope Sam Ryder sees this as imagine them dancing whilst he sings it live somewhere! He needs to collab and they need to do a full version, it would move people to tears xxx

WOW! First of all; an OUTSTANDING, version of that song. So hope these boys use more 80s pop in their routines so we can revive it somewhat, again, as there is tons of awesome material from that decade we are in danger of loosing if we don't keep it alive somehow; and second; this song made the routine that much more powerful and moving. Yes, let's hope this group goes far. My Best. Out.

What I love with this troupe of boys is they way they integrate different forms on dance, from very classical to modern and contemporary art form a dance. (This was not a sport or gymnastics performance as some have said 😩) The boy taking the book to Bruno at the beginning was an inspired moment from the coreographer. From the boys we heard speak before or after the performance were very articulate. I hope Bruno takes an ongoing interest in the Phoenix Boys and will draw some wealth arts community members to donate or fundraise for a permanent rehearsal studio. 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤

Wow! When, at eight-years old, I began studying ballet, there were TWO boys in ballet class. In recitals, we had to perform in baggy clown costumes. Eventually, the other boy quit and I was the only boy in class. And, even when I started studying at ABT, there weren't this many boy dancers (but there was diversity this group is lacking). Where did they find so many light-skinned, fair-haired, boy dancers? These kids had to have gathered from all over the country. It's mind-blowing!

John Farnham: Your the voice
@jpmasters-aus6 ай бұрын
Oh yes, if John Farnham would approve them using the most suitable video of him singing that song, that performance would lead to water all over the floor of the audience (crying). With John Farnham’s oral cancer, I suspect it is unlikely we may see him perform again.😢 But visually, that would be an ideal end of the message as the older generation retires and the new performers take on the future, as many have said. Unfortunately, there is still a stigma of boys dancing. These lines from “The Voice’ resonate so much with me around these boys: We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear Plus, this line reflects the audience towards them: Make a noise and make it clear ❤🎉❤🎉
