It's worth noting that these Phoenix changes will be 2 patch after the initial act launch (Patch 9.08 vs Patch 9.10), and I missed this while editing but also appears that Phoenix's flash will now recharge after getting 2 kills similar to other duelists. Also the new health thing is a new armour type called the 'regen shield', video out about that in particular soon!

So it s like you have 100 regular hp + 25 shield 🛡 = 125 hp + 50 charge or regenerative shield, which will regenerate the 25 maximum shield added. So taking the +50 shield 🛡will still be interesting cause you'd have 150 hp, and will be able to survive shots under 150 dmg per bullet ( like headshot phantom mid range ) Interesting indeed .

this is what makes it balanced tho cuz everyone ALWAYS has to watch out for phoenix now just like you do for jett raze and reyna. His kit is also just more helpful so you can make higher risk plays and if you live the reward could be huge if you play the rest of the round well.

This is not even remotely close to the iso changes. I think you're judging from very limited info rn. Iso changes meant he literally could be bullet proof the entire game if you played good. This is just the same kit he always had with a little tweak. To be honest people only really don't play him because his character design is more bland compared to others. Give him a cool jacket or something not this chef suit and annoying British sounds.

i could see this being good in a team setting, giving him a unique identity as the best flashing duelist. when paired with sova/fade it means you dont need a second initiator for flashes, so it can work with more comps. all speculative though.

No, having a self sufficient agent is good, especially when you are dealing with bad teammates in lower elo. This will give players and phoenix main that struggle with this issue a chance to carry the team

My guess is that this is some sort of limit on recoverable (over)health. This might be also part of Sage's update and a new variable to balance healing abilities. My guess Phoenix can now heal without staying in contact with the fire(maybe touching or casting once for like 25hp) but can only recover like 50ph at all per round.

As a phoenix main im not sure if i like that the flash is now the primary ability , having the molly recharging after some kills would make me heal so many times and be able to survive on clutch situations and get the W. Also i hope this doesnt mean u now have to flash with E button LMAO coz my muscle memory will get me fcked up. Wall change is great tho .

It made more sense to give him a molly / healing as his signature ability. The more kills he gets, the more likely he has taken damage and needs to heal up. His flash is broken as it is and I think being able to spam 3 consecutive flashes in a short time is just stupid. Just make his ult cancellable and give him increased movement speed. There is a fine line where you can make a character more fun to play while at the same time not completely broken, Riot always prefers to make characters more frustrating to play against and their idea of ‘balancing’ is the stupidest I’ve ever seen in game development.

In my opinion, logically the shield should be for any agent. It will be lame to add a new idea for one agent only (that can be common for all agents). Also if this was only for pheonix, then many people will just instalock him (whether comp or not) just to have the feel of it. This will definitely be a thing for all.

I think you can have 25 shield overall and a 50 shield to top you off. So when your 25 shield goes down, the 50 tops it off

So he gets refreshable flashes which means more undodgeable flashes for me, yay. And both will come from either my teammate px or the enemy px, even more yay... Although seriously, I thought they would overturn his flash even further when it's already the fastest to pop flash. More tuning on his wall was definitely needed because that part of his kit absolutely sucked. Finally the new thing of his health is cool if only for the fact that he actually can keep himself far longer in a fight and save his utilities instead of using them to heal himself, although if that's the actual case, then he would have two separate passives.

its not instant and its reserved sheild which means you still get one tapped but for example if you get phantom dinked for 140 then it would start healing, meaning phantom got a slight nerf in this indirectly
