A thirty year-old bicycle-riding thief. I wonder if he files a tax return? Oh, yeah, he's the guy who gets the refund.
@Cybo-Man6 жыл бұрын
FYI, you only get a refund if your tax withholdings are too high. Ideally you want your tax withholdings at a level that you don't receive a refund, and don't owe any money. The people that have more money taken from their check for the whole year, but come in at a lower tax bracket get their money back. It's not free money, it's your money that you gave too much to the government. If you get a nice big refund at the end of the year, that just means your paychecks were smaller than they could've been. Alternatively you could set your withholdings to 0% and keep your entire paycheck, but come tax time you will owe all taxes because none were taken from your checks. Speak with your employer to lower your withholdings if you get big returns. I'd rather have my money now than have it returned back to me later.

Is anyone else kinda surprised that there aren’t more stories about porch pirates getting murdered? Not because I think they should be but because it would make for interesting stories
@number4cat13 жыл бұрын
The problem with killing thieves, IMHO, isn't that a thief ends up dead, but that if it was legal, someone would kill a person they didn't like and say they caught them stealing. But yeah, I would like to see more thieves take the "room temperature challenge".

The porch piracy is the dumbest of crimes. It's like a slot machine. One out of a million boxes has something of worth in it. Usually it's a toothbrush or a set of kitchen towels, or worse, meds or medical supplies... 90% of stuff set out on display on people's porches are worth more than what's in their packages.
