Phoenix keeps improving so fast no one can keep up. That's what makes her so exciting to watch. She keeps getting better, changing up her moves, or going super saiyan in every video while others get stale recycling their moves. She will surpass Les Twins soon the way she is going.
@hellotheree5656 жыл бұрын
Kalita dewar shes not yet ready, still too young. Theres many potential waiting for her already, only if she pick the right choice - maybe she would go up to kida kendrick level n prob les twins
@hellotheree5656 жыл бұрын
Stefan MountainDew im waiting for her moves already, yeah i luv her not doing the same recycle moves - its boring for the other dancer to do like that. I cant wait for another battle with phoenix. Shes gonna be a beast
@evanreese48836 жыл бұрын
With a better song Phoenix could've beat all of them. She's actually really good. The song wasn't the kind of song that allowed her to show all that she can do, although I do feel that she could've found a way to add her signature moves in there. She IS up there with Les Twins. One of the only differences between her and Les Twins is the twins know how to add their signature moves to literally any song where as P{hoeing hasn't master that yet.

Kida and Jun are obvs good, but I like Kendrick better and think Phoenix is the best. This wasn't Phoenix's best round imo, it looks like she was unfamiliar with the song. Check out her 'stranger things' video as an example of her 👌👌👌 musicality.
@o_o26137 жыл бұрын
Yeah they all have different styles and strengths. Kida and Jun are really good at what they do, and of course they hit the beats. However they don't really have the groove that Phoenix has (and also Kendrick from what I've seen). IMO it's the ability to get into and express the groove in different styles of music that makes up a big part of what I consider to be 'musicality'. It's more than just doing moves that hit the beats on time. Musicality is about expressing the feel of the music. Phoenix can groove to all kinds of rhythms ans styles of music which makes her dancing really versatile. Her dancing is radically different in various clips yet she still expresses her style in each. Kida and Jun have developed their own style, but they don't have the same level of versatility. Phoenix is also improving so quickly that it makes it really exciting to watch her progression. I agree that they are all very good, and I really don't like to judge in a way that sounds negative towards any of them because I respect them all. It just comes down to a matter of preference.
@o_o26137 жыл бұрын
You make great points. Yeah, I'd probably say that versatility and musicality kinda go hand in hand. The more versatile dancer will be better able to adapt and express the music. Having a solid groove is the key. If their groove is on then they can emphasis different rhythms and elements of the music and bring them to the attention of the audience. Without groove it looks like the dancer is doing moves to the music rather than the appearance of the music flowing through them. It's hard to explain what I mean, and I'm sure everyone perceives the same videos differently. My opinion is based off how I perceive dancing as I'm watching and my own experience dancing. I feel like I know when I'm in the groove or not, and believe I can see the same thing in others (I could be wrong a lot of the time, IDK) No doubt I am biased in that regard, so I'm not trying to say I am right about any thing. Perhaps I went a bit far saying 'way ahead' regarding musicality; it's just an opinion. But I do see something in them whether it be what could be musicality or versatility, or perhaps a combination of those and something(s) else that sets them apart in my mind. It is difficult to describe art or explain a preference for some over others, and it's unlikely that people will agree 100%. I find it's still great to discuss it as it helps to broaden my own understanding and ability to appreciate what I may not have previously.
@o_o26137 жыл бұрын
Yeah the idea of letting loose hits on something. To me it's being in the zone where I'm not thinking and just feeling the music. That's when I can be more creative and new moves seem to come out of nowhere and they feel 'right'. I dance for moments such as those and I like to see other people in that zone. Hence why I prefer freestyle over choreo, even though choreo typically looks more polished/impressive (all else being equal). Although I refer to musicality as a single idea (expression of music), I conceive of as being a fairly vague construct made up out of other more specific things including versatility, creativity, adaptability, timing, rhythm, flow etc etc. None of these things on their own are equal to musicality but they in varying degrees they make up musicality. The degrees of which the sub-categories will vary between dancers (or even between different performances of the same dancer) makes it a difficult thing to use for comparison. I generally use it as a shorthand way to refer to things that make dancing appear musical. But it is kind of meaningless on its own without elaborating ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'll have to check out more of Kida's and Jun's work. I've seen a lot throughout their careers, but not all. Kida and Jun both have their really high strong points, and I agree Jun would benefit from working on his flow and Kida with expanding his versatility. But ultimately I think you hit the nail on the head with 'letting loose'. To my eyes, Kida and Jun seem to be holding back in a way. It's like they are focused on wining or competing rather than letting go and letting the music take over. Having said all that, I have never battled or competed. I have to feel comfortable and i can still take me quiet a while to get in the zone, and some days I never do. I imagine it would be extremely difficult to do so in a battle or competitive environment and then only having minute or so to get your body loosened up and grooving to a song that is more than likely unfamiliar. I have huge respect for all these kids and really enjoy watching them progress. They all have huge potential to push the art further. I hope they continue to enjoy it throughout long careers.
