Awesome. Flying Phoenix models are an extremely pleasure. I have several and am planning on buying more. Many thanks to all those at Phoenix.
And I bet for all that diligence and attention to detail, day in and day out - to bring RC modellers around the world so much fun and joy - they only get paid a pittance!!

The Phoenix Models are excellent. I had the Giles 202 and loved it. That airplane had a spin rate higher than any RC airplane I've ever had and I've had hundreds of them over the years. The fiberglass was excellent and the paint was very nice. I sure wish I could get my hands on another one of those Giles 202's!

Kind of surprising to see them building models for other brands, but when you builds planes in batches it’s no surprise to have surplus production capacity. Seeing a wall full of Dazzlers was a neat surprise. That was a plane I remember seeing in the catalogs when I was younger and only just got one second hand last year. The plane is a lot of fun but the stick on covering leaves a lot to be desired compared to an iron on. It made covering repairs difficult since the two kinds are not easily compatible.

You can still build from scratch, if you desire. I have a few I have built. I also have several Phoenix models, the latest being the A-26 Invader. Though it was pre-built with high quality, I still have about $3,500 into it, with engines, telemetry, and radio gear. I could not however, build it any better, than these wonderful factory workers, who do it every day. Also, there is no way that my collection would be over 40 strong, without buying some ARF's. I do wish, they would kit the Piper Comanche again, as mine crashed on it's third flight, due to radio failure, and not the model. It flew like a dream! Only next time, actually give it some wheel wells for retracts, as the Comanche was never built with fixed gear! The laminar flow wing, was a delight! My telemetry showed it passing 135 mph on it's way down to bury the engine under ground!

Cool video, thanks for sharing. I'm building my first Phoenix Models plane right now, a Super Decathlon mk.2 .46. I've built high end arfs from many of the top brands and have to say that the over-all quality of this airframe is very good, and comparable to the more expensive brands where it really counts. It is definitely a great value over-all. All of the major components are well built and nicely finished. I must say though, that most of the included hardware is junk. I would not trust it for my model, so I am replacing all of it. I would like to see either the hardware completely removed from the kit and a lower price, or much better hardware and a reasonably higher price. I highly recommend this plane, but would say plan on spending an extra $30-40 to put some high quality hardware on it. It is also a very solid base for modifying. I put a Saito FA-100 AAC in mine, mounted inverted, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the engine and exhaust (with a 90deg. elbow on the exhaust) fits inside the cowl and built-in exhaust tunnel with no cutting required, and the already generous cooling vents should be more than sufficient. I mounted a mini servo on the firewall for throttle control, and mounted the elevator and rudder servos in the tail, one for each, and connected the elevators with piano wire. That's basically where I'm at now, only things left to do are final install of the receiver, battery, fuel tank, cabin door, black trim and other cosmetic finishing touches. Wish me luck on the maiden! I will probably need it since I haven't flown in a couple years!

I bought two Phoenix kits, their A6M 46/55 GP 55" Zero and the FW 190 46/55 GP good quality till you get to the landing gear assembly, nothing fits, tubs have to be altered to fit in place ribs interfere and have to be cut away, screws for gear doors are to long and once installed landing gear on both kits hangs down from wing almost 3/4" had to remove 1/2 of wood where gear mounts just to make the fit decent

Dollartree tube planes rock! Maybe spend $3 and. 3 hours throwin a plane together out of foamboard and hotglue. Toss in esc, motor, battery, reciever, and some servos. Fly it around, smash it up...no big thing. But one hell of a way to spend the day. How much do they want for one of these..$150? And some nubie gets to fly it once or twice, a total of 30 seconds airtime and the thing gets smashed to pieces. Real fun, huh? Tube planes, the answer to learning to fly.

I feel awful for them. How sad, and they dont look happy.. I couldnt imagine building the same thing over and over. I'd give them a nice place to live and a damn good wage if I could get people like that to work at my business. I never thought I'd be the "old guy" saying this but the youth today in America is a sad disgrace. We still have an awful employee shortage in ND and they know it so you cant tell them "do not sit on your phone" or they will walk out. So unless you want to do everything yourself you look away.
