Were those petroglyphs along the trail? Or are they hard to find?

It's actually along the one of the main trails, but can be easy to miss if you're going in the opposite direction that it's facing.

Will, great video! I think that golf ball might've been mine - I've been wondering where that landed! (just kidding) Coincidentally, it was an old rockhound that owned a rock shop we visited when I was a kid who told me the trick to deal with an unfortunate encounter with cholla: when you go out, he told us, take a long-tail comb with you. If you tangle with cholla, use it to pull it out. You picked a fantastic day at a fantastic point in our wet winter to visit the preserve & shoot this. Like you, I'm amazed at how green everything is. (And I agree - cloudy/somewhat gloomy seems preferable to bright sun when tromping around the desert.) One final comment: you have a real eye for visual composition. Your shots of the landscape with the cloud formations in the background are really, really lovely. Thanks again, and enjoy the cool weather and green landscape while it lasts!
