Every time I see that neck I love the color and choice of wood more.

The first guitar I ever had with a volute was my LTD H1001, and now I wish all of my guitars had a volute, it's so much more comfortable. You're doing an amazing job on this, can't wait to see the next episode.

Amazing episode Daniel. What really surprised me watching this episode after building my first neck a few weeks back, is how similar our techniques are. I guess I picked up something from all your previous videos!

Hello Daniel, I’m considering using a spokeshave on my future first neck carve. In particular I think it may help in the fine work of removing small amounts of wood as I approach the facet lines. Have you ever tried a spokeshave or have any thoughts on how it may work in the neck carve? Thanks!

Hi Michael. I personally don’t have much experience with a spokeshave, but many luthiers use them so it should be fine to use. Good luck.

Any plans for a neck thru series?

Maybe one day, but for now not in the foreseeable future.

What is the source of your neck profile diagram? I'm interested in how it was drawn because I want to adapt it to a thicker neck. I used the diagram (you showed it in an older video) to carve a d-shape on the bass side and a c-shape on the treble side, but I had to adapt it on the fly because my neck was thicker (the first 45 degree facet wasn't as close to my fretboard as I'd like).

I made the diagram myself using CAD software. If you want to create an asymmetrical neck profile you have to indeed use two different diagrams/methods on each side of the neck, or adjust as needed. The diagrams are more like guidelines to get me in the ballpark of the required shape.

Hi Daniel. Man that's a sexy volute, voglute. However you spell it. Can you tell us, who is playing those blues riffs ? Around time stamp 58:00. He's a great slide player. If you know him, convince him to give slide lessons online. Thanks for all your content Daniel. You are a true craftsman. I hope to someday be able to own one of your masterpieces. Rock On Dan.

Hi Mark. I had to look up the song and remember to reply. The song you mention is “on to the next blues” by Will Harrison, whom I don’t know. Here’s a link to the song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYGYgnyMjb-Zq9Usi=_hW7NuznB5cE0Ktn
