Phoenix sandwich shop closing after problems with nearby homeless encampment

The owners say that at one point, nearly 1000 people were sleeping on the streets just outside their sub shop.

It's not just a California problem, homelessness is a everywhere problem in United States. There are more unhoused people than housed but we keep accepting migrants from other countries when USA cannot even help their own problems.

Now the homeless are starting up tents in the Weldon court mobile home park. the old Weldon court mobile home park is on weldon Ave off for 16 Street. They are making open camp fires and walking into the apartments like Rise midtown apartments looking on people windows and talking clothes out of the dryers and using the tables to sit down and drink and the BBQ grilled and the pool and spa.

It is so sad on many levels and for everyone. I understand where business owners are coming from but can we do like some type of legit donation thing online to help people? I know from experience of trying to find a safe place to go two years ago that I couldn't find anywhere to go and I called everyone.

The state of Arizona caused it ....there were over 30,000 evictions last year maybe more ....I had an apartment and was evicted even though I had a job I wasn't even late before they started the eviction process which was strange to me ....they are giving illegal evictions ....they put pad locks on the bathrooms and only allow customers to use the bathroom which explains why they urinate everywhere outside .....there are no laws against illegal price gouging in Arizona this is my first year and my last time ever coming back to Arizona

Arizona caused it themselves giving illegal evictions.....I was illegally evicted this is my first year in Arizona I had an apartment and jobs they evicted me before I was even late for rent .there were 30,000 evictions when I was getting evicted I'm sure there is more now ....shelters are full and people have nowhere to go also the businesses are putting pad locks on the bathrooms only for customers which explains why they are using the bathroom anywhere they can .looks like Arizona caused this themselves 🤷🏾 and it doesn't look like they are trying to fix it at all ....there are no laws against illegal price gouging nothing is protecting people this is my first and last time ever in Arizona I am a traveler and this is by far the worst state I have ever lived in .I would not recommend this state to anyone at all ...

@@FlippedtheF-up When you were homeless you probably didn't vandalize businesses (throw rocks and break windows) or camp out in front of a business or defecate on their property. I worked a gas station during the midnight shift. I had a homeless guy with a car who'd show up about every other day. He asked if he could use the bathroom (single toilet) to get cleaned up, it would be about 15 minutes. He never left a mess and was a very nice person. Things had gone to crap for him and he was trying to get back on his feet. But unfortunatly there are a lot of drug addicts in the population of homeless and they can be the 'asshole'.
