Amare left this series with 37.0 points 9.8 rebounds 1.0 steal and 1.6 blocks Nash with 23.2 points 3.8 rebounds 10.6 assists 1.2 steals The Spurs had 3 players with 20+ points and played some beautiful basketball with the Suns pace. Team ball will always be the most fun to watch for me.

Crazy looking at Phoenix we was running the modern day offense majority of the teams are doing now🔥💯.. Rally In Da Valley

It was a rarity to see 120+ points back then, and even if it was, most likely involving the Suns. Phoenix invented what Warriors pioneered today. Heck, there's a game where Suns beat the Warriors 154 to 121... _in regulation_ back in 2008 IIRC.

suns could never get past the spurs or lakers in the playoffs though

I remember the narrative coming into the series was that the Spurs defense will hold the Suns to 85-90 ppg. The Spurs instead decided to run with Phoenix, the scores remained in the 110's, and the pace was played at Phoenix's pace.

The Phoenix Suns got exposed in this western conference finals series against the San Antonio Spurs.

Remember how cocky the media was about the Suns winning? The Spurs couldnt hang with the Suns they said. The Spurs out ran them, but played defence too.

Steve Nash failed to deliver: 2004-05: Nash was MVP, Phoenix had the best record in the NBA and they lose in the conference finals 2005-06: Nash was MVP, Phoenix won the Pacific division, and they lose in the conference finals Nash never played in the NBA Finals. Great regular season player, but not a winner.

Nash did not deserve either one of those MVP awards. In 2004-5 it should have been Nowitzki, Garnett, or James In 2005-6 it should have been James.

@@fishbone3333 LeBron deserved the MVP over Nash in 05 even though his team didn't make the playoffs in the eastern conference???
@fishbone33332 жыл бұрын
@@Riles3152 Much more so for James in 2005-06 as opposed to 2004-05. In 2004-05 Dirk Nowitzki should have won the award. Nash only had the 3rd most win shares on his own team! I think we all can agree that no matter who we debate as deserving of the 04/05 and 05/06 MVP awards, there is a strong consensus that Nash should not have won either one of them.
