Great trip, with the expected ups and downs, and a blunt or two. I have a freind in Arizona and the place always looks parched. That looked as green as the countryside here in ireland. That had to be a nice bonus. The reservation looked beautiful with that stream running through it. Keep on pedaling. 👍

I am just getting into E Bikes and man...They have become a bit of an addiction to me...This was really enjoyable and inspiring me to use my E bike for longer journeys than just commuting for work and visiting friends and family...The most I have done in a day with my bike is around 30 miles and that was with a break to see family and a chance to charge the battery...We generally have too little Sun in the UK to rely on solar for long distance travel and I know too little about it right now...However, I am aiming for a spare battery to do distances...Thanks man...Liked and subbed...

Interesting video. We solar blanket e-bikers are a growing group. I have an e-mountain bike (E-MTB) E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown. 2 motors (AWD), 2 batteries, dual suspension. It's a cargo bike that can haul 400 pounds, including my weight. Great for hunting and to haul out boned-out big game meat. Not cheap at $5,100.but very good quality and the HQ is in Pahrumo 50 miles north of Las Vegas. MY CHARGING SYSTEM: I have an Off Grid TREK 220 watt solar blanket and an Elejoy adjustable controller with cables. All from Off Grid TREK in Canada. My solar blanket ie 3' wide and 6' long and waterproof. Made with SunPower flexible solar panels and weighs 12 pounds, 14 pounds with controller sis cables.

Really cool trip congratulations 🎊 👏 I have definitely run into water problems in the desert south west . I even had to beg a little 😔 because I didn't learn my lesson. I wasn't to impressed with the solar that part didn't seem to work out . I did like the high speed death wobble and officers friendly though . You can hang your bike to change a flat tire that's what I do especially on loaded touring bike . Mid drive will break the spokes and the chain ⛓ 🙃. In my opinion delivering torque to the out side of the bicycle wheel seems to do least amount of damage. Thanks again for the video 👍 it was really cool 😎
@Eric_Tennant2 жыл бұрын
With double the solar it would of work out without so many hotel rooms and that RV park at big lake. Even still, I'm a bit addicted to hotels after not showering for a while. Lately I been riding a human powered MTB hardtail. I have done one tour on the flat-ish part of AZ on it. Next one I'm going 20% road, 20% single track, and 60% gravel up into the mountains (Hike-A-Bike I'm sure). Just waiting for the mountains snow to start melting.
@dennisyoung46312 жыл бұрын
Odd - I had really good luck with the mid-drive on the old bike (stolen 3/2021). No chain breakage, no broken spokes. Only problem I had was the chain *gnawing* my trousers! (Made an elastic strap for trousers.)
@Jarrod_D2 жыл бұрын
@@dennisyoung4631 sounds like he's going to have saved you a fortune on trousers. I use a 100 dollar 79cc four stroke clutch less friction drive. So simple a cave man could do it. It gets over140 mpg before peddling with 400lb loadout with rider . I rode it from Florida to California and back in 40 days this year . Did you ever go anywhere on the trouser 👖 eater 🤔 ?
@dennisyoung46312 жыл бұрын
@@Jarrod_D yes, to get groceries, (25 - 40+ miles, with trailer); doctor’s appointments - up to 40 miles; hardware stores; and many other places. Current build will use a 31 amp-hour battery, so I should manage up to ~ 80 miles on a charge. (All that remains is the brakes, which I should get next month, and then I can begin assembly.) And yes, I have an EHO-35 engine, that was to be part of a friction drive. Still might fit it if I look to try 100+ mile days.

Another advantage of night travel is less traffic (?). I like to go to Winco (24 hour grocery store) at 2-3 AM….
@Eric_Tennant2 жыл бұрын
Indeed night riding has many advantages in the desert. Pre-bug I would shop at Walmart in the middle of the night. Then they changed their hours so more people could be in the same place at the same time so we would become infected. Top it off then they had us all use the same exit/entrants. #WalmartWantMeDead

And because a 4year degree inflated to triple it's value.. it means that there is no way anyone with a 4 year degree can get a job that pays enough to pay off the over inflated college loan prices.. And everyone with outstanding SL debt will have their SSI taken if it isn't paid off before retirement. SL is not consumer debt, it is gov't debt.. The Biden administration is counting on the fact that the population cannot retire, and the gov't won't have to pay out SSI benefits.. i'm sorry i was joking about a serious topic..
