You're missing the intention behind the lack of reveal of the Phantom's face. The point is, this game is the developer's medium on which to reflect ideas and spur thoughts. The conclusion of the game impacts the characters, by all means, but it has a larger impact on the audience(I believe, at least, that was the intention), when they figure out the true meaning. The true meaning of the lack of reveal is, "Who are we when we strip away who we are not?" The Phantom lost his identity, which is the true irony of the final breakdown. He has a real face, but that isn't important, it's the person behind the face, the Phantom's "true self" - who happens not to exist anymore due to his years of being someone completely different.

Definitely an epic ending! The final bosses sure are surprising, your mentor (Kristoph Gavin), your client (Mat Engarde) your rival prosecutor (Godot) and now the lead detective of your cases (Bobby Fullbright). If there will be an Ace Attorney 6, i can imagine a 4th attorney joining the agency, who you will also have to play as only to turn out for him/her to be the final boss. That would be interesting, playing as the culprit. :D

Through all of this, I honestly was always a little disappointed that Aura never really... got to talk to Athena after it turned out that the person she hated so much blindly over all the years turned out to be a good person. I wish she did, because Aura seems smart enough to realize when she's genuinely in the wrong. She knew she was in the wrong for holding the hostages, too. Yet they somehow just glossed over it, as if they're both feisty battle kittens who don't belong in the same room. Athena was even right there when Aura talked to Simon in recess - and nothing.

The fact that Apollo is so torn, and they keep playing his theme even when Pheonix has to point out the alternative escape route I think really adds to the feeling that Phoenix is desperately trying to be a good influence and example on his staff, whilst at the same time obviously helping them both out.
