Man, they did it again. The lawyers have become so good at bluffing that they can make imminent death staring them straight in the face just vanish. First in Dual Destinies case 1: Tonate: "I've got a bomb!" [slams bomb on witness stand, everyone panics] Phoenix: "...No, you don't." [bomb disappears in a puff of logic] Tonate: "...Oh, fuck me sideways." And now this case: Ga'ran: "I just enacted a law that lets me execute you on the spot!" [royal guards storm the courtroom, everyone panics] Apollo: "...No, you didn't." [royal guards disappear in a puff of logic] Ga'ran: "Well, shit."

Well, all of those are relatively easy to explain. The Bomb: The one-of-a-kind bomb already blew up the courtroom, so for Tonate to claim he suddenly has an identical copy in his hands (that he already demonstrated was a toy bomb earlier) was a shaky bluff at best. The Phantom: He'd already been established as having a tiny bit of emotional capacity when his name was first dropped. The Royal Guard: Yeah, I dunno why Ga'ran didn't just order them shot on the spot. It'd have been a perfect time for Amara or Athena or someone else not directly in the line of fire to question her authority, giving Apollo the window to make his deductions (alternatively. Make the revolutionaries actually do something by kicking the Royal Guards' ass), but instead it's just like Ga'ran sat there and let Apollo dethrone her for no reason.

Yeah, she had exactly 1 option, and it was a bad one, student of the fighting Phoenix and co-worker of Apollo, Athena Cykes, granted, that’s still one more than what Apollo said, but still, Desperation would get her nowhere.

@@lamfan3591 Or technically she might’ve MAYBE tried to force Nahyuta or Edgeworth to do it, probably inventing a last-minute loophole (not unlike some of the other laws she’s been known to make up on the fly) to let the queen force a prosecutor to act as her defense if anyone tried to challenge her. That way, she could essentially hold the drafted prosecutor hostage by threatening to take them down with her if she gets exposed as a fraud. Of course, that obviously wouldn’t have worked in the end because her exposure automatically nullified every single law she ever passed (and by all accounts there’s no way either Edgeworth or Nahyuta would agree to hide the truth for her anyway, not even on pain of death). But given how unstable and utterly desperate Ga’ran would’ve been by then, I can definitely see how she might’ve tried to pull a desperate stunt like that, even though by all accounts such a move would’ve been doomed to fail by that point.

I know we all got hooked up by the epicness of the moment, but can we take a seconde to realize,Apollo literally risked his life and went all in, on a BLUFF, maybe I forgot something important, or didnt noticed it, but in no moment before this in the game no one had put in doubt Ga'ran medium powers, I understand his line of thinking, Amara did all the spirital thinks in place of Ga'ran, therefore she must not have powers, but thats really risky, because you have not proof that Ga'ran isn´t a medium, she could have simply been to bored to do it and asked Amara to take her place, Apollo had a reasonable line of thinking, and it resulted to be truth, but we can say that with handsight, in the moment he went with a risky line of thought and BLUFFED without proof.

Probably one of the best cases in Ace Attorney. And was it me or was this one of the creepier Ace Attorney games? This game leaves no more doubt as to what happens to someone convicted of murder. They WILL get put to death! And it seems in Kurah'in they get killed in heinous ways. Either by hanging or public beheading! And no one in the nation seems to have a problem with that either! Not the prosecutors, the courts or the people. You have Phoenix who's literally fighting for his life in this country and prosecutors out for blood.

Actually, Ga'ran's chant is almost the same. If you look closely, there is one character that she changes. The Ace Attorney Wiki describes Ga'ran's breakdown as her trying to chant but it somehow "backfiring"; this is their personal interpretation. Extending on that, I theorize that the tiny difference was a mistake that made her go unconscious. As you may or may not know, each Khura'inese character is a stylized hiragana turned upside down. If you do this to each character in Nayuta's chant, It's the same as the audio, reading out as _"Satorha imaoman domosamashi detashinuke taregasayo sonoka!"_ However, Ga'ran says _"detashi*o*ke"_ instead of _"detashinuke"_. The significance of this is unknown. She then chants a new line: _"Saman shiike domomo sonoka shitaoma takemama sadogashima!"_ Once again, the meaning is unknown. None of this means anything in Japanese.

I think that it's a nice revenge for Apollo. Apollo had his own game but he was overshadowed as a protagonist by Phoenix's story. Here it's the inverse: Phoenix is overshadowed in favor of Apollo's own story. Also, I think that putting his name in the title would have spoiled the nature of the game.
