Thank you so much for this video! I was fiddling around with my Cyber Dragon deck and I managed to create a 3 card combo that ends with this exact same field (Though it's important to mention that it ends with much less card advantage and is not as good as this one, because, uh Gouki > Cyber Dragons). Even though I don't plan on making my deck focused on Extra Linking, it is a nice feat to have some knowledge that gives me insight into how the Extra Link forms and what are the strengths and weaknesses of it as well.

This is a very situational out as it only seems to apply to Cyber Dragons, but you can Jizukiru the Trigate, summon a Cyber Dragon name, go into Megafleet using those the Cyber Dragon name, the Unicorn and the Mermaid. After that I dunno haha

This may not be a one card out to your entire board but I think cyber dragon/toon cyber can take care of most of it. The monsters in the extra monster zones can both be used to summon megafleet which breaks trigate's co link. As for iblee, she can be tributed off for cyber dragon at the cost of your normal summon. The rest of the board depends on the remaining cards in your hand.

Honestly, I think Iblee's necessary to complete the extra link lock since it disables Kaiju, the one thing that heavily disrupts your board and Tri-Gate can't stop.

Here's the play. Turn Iblee to attack mode. Enter battle phase. Crash Iblee into monster. MP2 Kaiju Trigate. Proceed with play to tear apart opponent unprotected board. Sure they wasted a battle phase but that never matters in the first place if the deck is good. I'd rather get the extra draw 100% of the time and pop Iblee.

Tbh I don't think Tri-Gate is better than Gryphon and a set Imperial Order/Solemn Judgement. Also not a huge fan of the Predaplant engine because it has several weak points to Ash and Ogre (even with Called by the Grave).

Trigate Wizard would literally just be Solemn Judgment in this scenario. I'm not a fan of the extra space that combo takes up and also not a fan of maining Imperial Order in general when it sucks going 2nd and many of the decks (particularly the knightmare based ones and altergeists) are not actually hurt by Order hardly at all or have instant outs to it like Spyral Tough or Altergeist Meluseek. The Predaplant engine is actually super safe to both of those hand traps if you combine it with the rest of your deck. Opening Scorpio + Junk Forward, Marauding Captain, or Called by the Grave make Ash & Ghost Ogre not matter at all. That's 10 cards (9+RotA) that make your opponent burn a hand trap and not stop your play. With Forward or Captain if Scorpio gets Ash'd then you just still make Invoker all you lost was the Instant Fusion search and now you're doing a regular Gouki play. They can't Ash you at any point and stop that play. You can also play the Butterspy with the Predaplants to have 13 cards that make it safer from Ash & Ogre because you can CL1 Scorpio effect CL 2 Butterspy so now they can't Ash Scorpio.

That's actually incorrect. Galaxy Worm requires another monster in hand for the play to be possible and completed or else you can't trigger Firewall to special summon when you make Goblin because you lack the extra monster that Scoprio gives you with Instant Fusion. And Armageddon Knight also requires you to open specifically Gouki Headbat because Armageddon into Malicious into Isolde triggers no Gouki searches and if you search Headbat with Isolde you can't summon it. And if you are linking the Octostretch to search Headbat the Headbat is no longer live because you control no Goukis. They are good starters yes but both are inferior in quality to Scorpio.

[Sorry for the longer comment but this is just to fully outline playlines off each option.] In addition to that both Armageddon Knight and Galaxy Worm plays are far weaker to Ash Blossom even with an extender than Scorpio is. If you have Scorpio + Marauding Captain/Junk Forward you're opponent has to either Ash the Scorpio effect or Ash the Invoker. But one of them is 100% resolving meaning you can structure bigger plays off it. If they Ash Scorpio you have the Invoker + Gouki and that's still a full play off Isolde, or if they hit Invoker you will have the Ash'd Invoker, Captain/Forward, + Instant Fusion, so you can still go into an Isolde and play from there with Octo+Instant Fusion into a Goblin getting a search for a Gouki off Octostretch which you can then normal summon and continue play which can lead into an easy Re-Match. with Galaxy Wurm + Captain/Forward they just always Ash the Invoker leaving you without a Gouki 100% of the time and it's far less expandable off your Isolde because your field is Octostretch + Isolde so you can't make Goblin and search a Gouki to normal because Goblin isn't a playline you can perform. with Armageddon Knight + Captain/Forward they will Ash your Armageddon Knight and now there is no option for Invoker because of levels. So you just go into Isolde with Armageddon + Captain/Forward search a Warrior and summon Octostretch but just like the Galaxy Worm situation you're field cannot extend into Goblin to fix your field post disruption because it is just Isolde + Octostretch. Now that said Armageddon Knight can be paired with Blue Mountain Butterspy as the extender instead of Captain/Forward to block Armageddon from Ash. But that doesn't really change much since it just means Isolde summoning Octo from deck will get Ash'd. So you're field will be Isolde + Malicious and nothing can really be done there either. That example gets fixed with Summon Sorceress tho because Malicous + Isolde become Sorceress and you still have at least 1 Malicious to summon into the Sorceress zone and use that to special a Gouki from deck and establish plays. But outside of Butterspy it will just always be more correct to Ash Armageddon Knight and prevent that play from being possible once we get Summon Sorceress. So TL:DR Scorpio gives a much higher ability for play in hands when not hand trapped, and when hand trapped pairs overall best with the extenders you play to allow corrections & guarantee plays get made even through disruptions.

Yea it's cool. But we could always negate that with Tri-gate so I don't see a huge reason to worry. Unless your opponent has 2 Evenly's but the odds of that are already low as is.

Also Extra Linking is not what you should be doing with Mermails. You should be summoning Moulinglacia and a few Toadally Awesomes or summoning True King of Calamity. Those are both infinitely better options than Extra Linking with a fragile deck that isn't meant to do that and has better options.

so why not grab a random warrior off of isolde INSTEAD of a gouki name, since isolde has teh restriction on what it searches? If you grabbed literally anything else, then you would be able to summon all goukis in the deck and get a search for each name. But since you searched it off isolde, you basically tell yourself that you will have 1 less search... just seems like a waste to me

In this specific combo actually yes. You can search the already used Suprex off Isolde since Isolde says "for the rest of the turn" It's a nice thing to keep in mind and it does allow Riscorpio to be used for a search rather than just being nothing, but in the grand scheme it doesn't change that much until we get Summon Sorceress. Although I guess it does allow you to do this entire play and keep the Ash Blossom in hand regardless of if you drew another monster or not strictly because of the extra search. So i guess keeping Ash + the 3 cards drawn would be nice i guess but it changes the outcome of the combo by a single card when it was already like 9 cards from 1.

Like i said tho. If you extra link them Iblee hardly matters. There are some weird matchups where it does matter like occasionally against Mermail or shit decks like Infernoid. But you should be beating those decks anyway with or without Iblee on their field if you have the extra link established and fully loaded with protections. and in those matchups where it starts to matter all Iblee really does is just say "start your turn in Main Phase 2" because they crash Iblee

This is literally why I don't play competitive. Win dice roll win game. Ya you could draw a handtrap but that's another luck aspect. Not to mention only tier 1 designed engines have the room for 6-12 kaju/handtraps in deck without slowing the deck down. So it's either play tier 1 decks and hope to win the dice roll or lose. How's that even a game of skill at that point. That's not competitive that's playing the same deck as everyone else and gambling.

PhoenixFlareX I wouldn’t say main but siding cyber dragon seems one of the better outs then kaiju or sphere mode

Yea it's definitely one of the better outs if you can then make Megafleet into part of your combo afterwards. And it turns off Tri-Gate. But that's why we always have the secret spice. ;)
