Amazing video dude! I plopped about 70 hours into this game when it came out for switch and I absolutely loved it. Probably in my top 5 of games period. I just did a search for it to see if it had taken off because at launch, it didn't really get much press aside from a small community on discord and reddit. I really hope more people discover and get to play this beautiful game. It had so much love and thought put into it. Thank you for making this great review, hopefully it will help it reach more people! This video is really well put together man! I agree with pretty much everything you said.

Great review! Love this game almost as much as Ori 1-2. This title is very underrated due to Nintendo not advertising it due to "covid"

Only started playing yesterday, so far has only finished the first dungeon. I feel the game could benefit with a dungeon map. Finding your way and backtracking can get tiresome unless you have good memory.

No map? That along with the 'when you die reload your last save point' is really putting me off.
@travv883 жыл бұрын
@@drradsart4178 This game is really hard. It's great, but hard. I downloaded some cheat engine thing so I can get infinite money and stamina, makes it a lot more manageable. Even still some of the controls are annoying AF.

The lack of a map in the menu/screen is not such a big issue because in general the areas are usually well structured and guided and are easily distinguished, unlike other games. But the lack of autosave is a issue that can make you lose a lot of progress if you forgot to save and enter a place where you are caught off guard, i also hate the knockback that occurs when you get hit by a projectile, because if you get hit by a lot of projectiles in a row you won't be able to react until you hit the ground.
@johanandersson8646 Жыл бұрын
@Sumire〜 The knockback is not such a big issue because all you gotta do is avoid getting hit by the projectiles. What I meant by this is perhaps you've got better memory because at an early temple I was trying to find my way round but kept getting back to where I've already been. I stopped playing shortly after that temple so I don't know if later temples have a similar structure? Would you say that they do?

Heads up, slight spoilers, anyways this game is a 9/10, only major problem I have is the ending is very disappointing. The story just ends and it makes me think the developers ran out of time and rushed the end. I prefer how the original game ends, but other than that it's a really solid game. (BTW the caverns after trekking through the city ruins is my least favorite part)

I have this game in my backlog and this may sound weird but I've been delaying playing it because I already know that it will be one of my favorite games and I don't want the experience to be over. Lol. Can anyone relate to that?

Was planning on getting this game, thanks for your review i know now this game isn't for me, the whole losing your items when you die is a huge turn off.
@ikabubu172 жыл бұрын
No, you don't lose items when dying. That's not what he said in the review. You lose PROGRESS, not items. There's a big difference.

Good review. Didn't touch on the Metroidvania elements though. Are they in the game? Properly balanced?
@fritzvontrapp82693 жыл бұрын
The item progression and overworld/location separation are more reminiscent of Zelda, but there are plenty of different ways to get places and many opportunities to backtrack with new items for more goodies
@hylianlz3 жыл бұрын
@@fritzvontrapp8269 Thanks! I did notice the Zelda 2 like overworld. Didn't know if it was optional, like if the rest were interconnected besides, and that's as more like a fast travel system to get around long backtracking, or if that was the main way to travel between locations.
@fritzvontrapp82693 жыл бұрын
@@hylianlz The overworld is the primary way to get between places. There's a fast travel building that opens up after a while that can take you to each area and a few major locations in each area are connected via underground passageways. I guess I should mention that the overworld combat is largely skippable, too. Most Metroidvania navigation comes from the individual dungeons

The first half “phoeno” draws from the word “phoenix” and the last half, “topia”, draws from the word “utopia”."
