​@@Saiyan-Auhsoj It's a lot to cover in one KZbin comment, but I'll attempt to summarize. Ask yourself, would these Phone Scams go over today? Some would argue "no". These scams would not fly today in the fear of being taken down, or their lives ruined. One must ask themselves "Why?" Why, if somebody was playing a joke on another, would somebody potentially lose their job? You could argue because of political correctness. Some believe that it's "not right" to play jokes on other people, in the case they are mentally unfit to handle a joke. Why? Is it because it's wrong? Or is it that we are attempting to protect people that are, for a lack of a better word, soft headed. Postmodernist theory plays in here because the theory looks at modernism and is critical. For good reason of course, but it lacks the insight to the "good". It takes the bad, but discounts the good. In praxis, this looks like: "A man goes into a clothing store. He chooses to buy a pair of blue jeans." A postmodernist looks at this and might say: "Jeans are a societal construction and jeans represent blue-collar working culture, that has led to the enrichment of Jeff Bezos." You might be thinking, "uh. wut?" By looking at any modern creation, you only consider the wrongdoings from this creation, rather than the betterment of peoples lives. They have affordable pants they can wear. They can go to a clothing store to buy clothes. This is the root pathology. Relating this back to these radio shows - playing jokes on people could eventually lead somebody to do something radical. Therefore, we must protect the innocent person that was scammed, and stop them from playing the jokes. This line eventually slopes all the way to Wrongthink (George Orwell, 1984) if taken to its excess.
