As history has shown us, we're in one of those years where Apple decides to retain the styling and design of its previous iPhone, and simply spices things up in the specs department, as well as throwing in some other new goodies into the mix. In this particular case, the iPhone 5s brings forth a fancy schmancy new fingerprint scanner called Touch ID, a first of a kind 64-bit based Apple A7 mobile processor, and an updated iSight camera with larger sized pixels. Beyond the hardware goodness in tow with the iPhone 5s, it's also sporting Apple's biggest undertaking yet, iOS 7, which has been a long time coming...

So, I just won this phone at work, currently using a Samsung s3350 Galaxy Mini. (Which is a crap phone in fairness) But, although the Samsung was my first smartphone (I'm REALLY not 'into' this whole phone thing, I pretty much couldn't care less) I do like Android, in terms of Apps available, the fact that you can upgrade the memory via SD...I don't know whether to use the iPhone or to sell it and buy an Android...I'm thinking I'd like the Sony Xperia z3 compact because I'm a photographer and I also have a PS4 and that phone has a great camera and also connects to PS4...What do you guys think I should do?

For me having an iphone for free is just too cool to pass. If you like photographs think about nokia lumia 930. Really cool phone. But if you deffinitelly have to go for an android z3 compact or the regular one are fine choices.

Only criticism I have of iOS7 is that the bluetooth toggle in the control center does not bring up the connection window when you turn bluetooth on. As a result it is only really useful as an off switch.

With the new multitasking system you can close multiple apps at once by moving the apps you want to close into view and then swiping up with the matching number of fingers up to five obviously due to the phone's screen width.

64 bit just refers to the size of data that can be processed at a time in registers in the processor. It basically means you can run more programs at the same time without it getting too slow ^.^ that's also why it can run fingerprint authentication, etc. and games will play faster.

problem with non-standart resolutions is that they are not standart, say you would watch 720p movie on iphone now it would be downscaled because of the resolution and you would lose sharpness.

You can close three apps at a time in multitasking with three fingers...couldn't do that before. You had to hit a tiny x that I sometimes had trouble hitting

You can close more than 1 app at a time by moving your fingers of the screen for each of them. Also they forgot to mention that when you're on the web, there's a button on the url that allows easy read, basically gets rid of everything but the text making the words bigger.

Don't think you own a S4 but I can say the S4 is intensely a Gitantic Shit4. It's actually the magic articheture thats in the A7 CPU.... btw do you know that an A5 iDevice actually performs better on day to day tasks (not benchmarks) than most top end android phones today?

It's the same way you would with any other phone. iPhone's iMessages are for user with iPhones. So like u have an iPhone and your friend has an iPhone the message bubble will be blue. If u have an iPhone but your friend has android, the the message bubble will be green. All in all, u can still message like u would with any other phone. Hope that helped 😊

Human retina can see up to around ~470 ppi, HTC One is 460 ppi and I can see make it a tiny pit close up viewing fine text. Retina isn't exactly "crystal clear" to my eyes, but anything above 160ppi doesn't really bother me

It depend on what you are looking at. A full sized television will certainly show difference in detail, but on a 4" or 5" phone you practically need a microscope to tell the difference. Any phone screen around 300 ppi is crystal clear and any phone over 400 ppi is overkill. The ipad mini is 163 ppi and if that doesn't bother you then nothing else probably will.

When you can't see the difference between the pixels, pixel density doesn't even matter. If anything, the minimum number of pixels to get this effect the better, as it prolongs battery life.

I guess it gets into a pretty scientific discussion how if you have above 20/20 eyesight 300 ppi will look pixelated from 12 inches away. I have an HTC One and I cant make out any pixels, neither can anyone I know. It is insane how we have phones now with higher resolutions than most computers.

the screen size is relative, in my opinion the iphone 5 has almost a perfect screen size, for me the prefect would be arroud 4.5, i think that the s4 is enormous, really good, but to big for me

I'm about to get my first smart phone, I've carefully looked at the specs of a many many phones, and honestly Apple lacks a lot in phones. I could get an android that one ups the 5s in many areas for $30 dollars. Yes, the iphone does have 2 or 3 features that are unique to it, but for all of those, but everything else is technology other companies have been using for a while. What apple has is better marketing.

Ok so it isn't necessarily, but the Retina Display is a display that has liquid crystal displays that have a high enough pixel density that the human eye is unable to notice pixelation.
