Bro, its not the RAM management, its the battery saving feature of the pocophone. The phone will force close the background apps when its in idle. You can disable that feature or you can lock the apps on the task manager so that it will still run in the background

not really, because gravity. once you somehow manage to keep the cable from covering your screen, it has to form an arc behind and under the phone back to your head (god forbid you run the cable under your clothes, it gets even worse!). This shortens the cable length and thus is a big deal (the bigger deal the taller you are, and I'm personally on the huge side). Not to mention it bends the cable at the connector if it's not angled, making your headphones less durable. I get that jack at the top might be convenient in bed when your phone is charging, but if you don't watch stuff on your phone at night (I don't, personally), there are literally zero advantages to it.

The fact that this $300 potato with the 10 nm S845 is trading with the XS which is running on Apple's 7 nm A12 says a lot. I always thought Apple's hardware was impressive among its optimization. But what we are seeing here is clearly Android's hardware outperforming Apple. I still think Apple's optimization is better but Snapdragon have officially taken the performance crown starting with the S835. Honestly it was evident this was going to happen since 2016's S821 was already outperforming the A10. Hell androids have also become more efficient than iphones since the S821. The fact that phones like the pixel/S7 edge/LG G6 can push 6 hours of SoT at QHD+ is proof.

My opinion: 1. No headphone jack is a major flaw, because we don't live yet in that type of futuristic era where wireless devices have batteries that last for weeks and have identical reaction time as present in wired devices. 2. The second time you compared app loading time between the two phones (at 9:24) wan't fair at all, because one of Pocophone's priorities is very long battery life, so Pocophone's modified version of the Android OS (MIUI 10) was designed purposely to shut down background apps when too many apps are present in the background to the point that it starts to drain the battery excessively, which defeats one of Pocophone's main selling point - the battery life. 3. You shoud've done the GeekBench comparison right after the two phone's boot-up, that's the first thing you should have done. 4. On the Geekbench test and the app loading speed comparison you were mentioning RAM, as if Pocophone's had to be faster because of more RAM capacity - RAM doesn't determine how fast a device renders data, it mainly determines how much data the device can handle simultaneously (aka running many apps at once, or RAM-heavy apps in some cases). It's the iPhone's slight advantage in CPU power, and Pocophone's slight advantage in lighter+efficient, OS build that made the Pocophone load apps faster on the first test, then fall back on the second test on which the iPhone had kept running all the apps in the background (advantage). I have a Pocophone I and I've never imagined myself a smartphone will have such a long battery life, and such camera performance and specs comparable to the iPhone X, but costs like 4 times LESS than iPhone X.

Well android doze is not supposed to kick in till a few hours after the screen turns off i think. Unless they changed it in android 9? I wouldn't know since i am still on nougat (fkin thanks LG). Anywho, Greenify's doze actually idles apps just after a few min. I prefer it that way actually.

@@ICeyCeR3Al Not generally the android version, it's xiaomi's miui ram management. Samsung and other android devices has better ram management than xiaomi. Not really a significant thing since "background" apps will still run(social media apps and the likes). It only closes those idle apps which doesn't do anything when minimize on a period of time.

I recently paid just £249 or my 128GB Pocophone in the best colour (Rosso Red), brand new from ebay UK & I can honestly say, this is the best £249 I ever spent! My mate has just paid a staggering £1100 for a 256GB i-phone XS max & after comparing them both I can honestly say the Pocophone beats the i-phone in virtually every department. My mate could not believe how good the Poco is at such a low price & is now seriously regretting purchasing the i-phone XS Max! Ok, the i-phone is beautiful to look at but other than that the Pocophone is better in every way & when you consider the i-phone is over 4 x more expensive & doesn't even come with a fast charger or head phone jack you can only come to one conclusion. Pocophone wins hands down! Well Done Xiaomi! Another big nail in the i-phone coffin!

I know this comes a few months late, but I have some insights you could consider if you haven't already settled on a device. From my experience, going from an SD625 Xiaomi MiA1 to the SD845 POCO, not much of a huge difference. Yes, the POCO is powerful, but for my typical usage, I cannot truly say the MiA1's now dated SD625 is a terrible performer. I never noticed laggy performance and it was way too power-efficient. I could easily squeeze out a day and more, the phone never ran hot and for the most part, a great wonderful device. That said, the POCO is a good upgrade. Turning off MIUI Optimizations helps in fine tuning some of these RAM issues. But I feel that the newer 6xx series (and possibly 7xx series) are more power efficient and reasonably great performers, and could easily stretch the 4000mAh battery of the POCO even longer. I'd say either choice is good. Though the SD845 does carry with it some bragging rights.

Just to point out the pocophone looks like it has stronger colours than the iPhXS Max but whites are better on the Max. I am considerably impressed by the Pocophone's speed. It lacks in RAM management but for this price this is the perfect phone. There is nothing other to compete against it. It is op in it's market like fire ants in texas, it has no natural predators. I'd definitely expect much more for the price of the iPhXS Max. For it to be marginally better at that asking price is not good enough I'd say
