Low power is more beneficial for when the phone is in your pocket, it stops background refresh for apps, downloads, email fetching, and dims the screen faster after receiving a notification or something that lights up the screen, so of course having the phone on most of the time doesn’t work at all. In other words, it’s background tasks that get benefits from low power mode.
@pipooon3 жыл бұрын
Also on iPhones with LCD display is more beneficial, because if you watch HDR video or movie with low power mode off, the battery drains fast, on the iPhone XR - 11 - SE this process use cpu to simulate hdr. When you use low power mode on, the HDR is off and help the battery when you watch movies.

The Low power mode restricts background processes and lowers the refresh rate when fast scrolling. Low power mode decreases the CPU Frequency by approx. %50 regardless of what you do or use. I checked this via CPU Monitor app which doesn't work anymore. Therefore it helps to increase daily battery life anyway. If you consistenly use low power mode, your battery cycle will be less over time. This may help to slow down battery degradation compared to the usage scenario without LP mode. But we are talking about approx. %5-10 difference at overall . It is not that much. After 2-3 years of use, you will inevitably feel the battery degradation regardless of LP mode Usage. But in order to increase daily battery life to avoid charging frequently, i always use LP mode unless i feel poor performance.

The biggest difference here is that in background tasks, the LPM limits what goes on. The IP13PM has variable refresh rate so you only are refreshing at the 120hz if you are scrolling, when you are watching a video or a still image. The screen will refresh at whatever fps the screen needs to at minimum. So a 24fps video will get 24fps or 60fps gets 60fps. Further, if you are gaming at a locked 60fps instead of 120fps. The LPM limits the processor power use by 70% and its still faster than a 12 Pro Max. So if you are gaming you will get way better battery life. The native scheduler is just that efficient as is, thats why no big difference

SD888 WINS
@sakeenazaidi21873 жыл бұрын
@@ogxt3rr067 Sd888 is going to win both tests , but the thing we want to see is the margin between them . Exynos 2100 has improved alot compared to its predecessor but it is not the same for sd888 , also it heats up alot (thanks to samsung's manufacturing).

i only use low power mode when i know i wont be using phone for a while(1-2hours) or during night time/sleep or when battery is 20% or lower
@stephensnell13793 жыл бұрын
You should use it all the time as it will make your charge go further

Apple should come up with “ultra power saving mode” like Samsung. It’s really good for stand by battery life.
@nxy61233 жыл бұрын
They wont do that. Apple reasons.

I've used ultra power saving mode, saved me a few times when I was going out to places like a forest trying to take some pictures and hiking on a mountain not realizing I didn't charge my phone.
@Iridiumcosmos2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t really need to as their processors are already efficient as is.
@redjazzjrSRM5 ай бұрын
I have run experiments myself and low power mode drains battery faster. And my guess is that it drains faster because it forces the iPhone to work harder.

please do those tests on cell signal with wifi off! that would be a good real world test
@moodyroyce Жыл бұрын
It would’ve been nice if done to new pro iPhones since they turn off pro motion and they have 5g so we can see if they power down the modem there

this should be the standard for all tests like this, so it really shouldn't be anything special
