Well, he didn't even used the iPhone 16 here.. but that would be the fair comparison (just like the old trio in the past decade, Note, iPhone, Pixel all released in the last 3-4 month of the year..) And this S24U is just a renamed Note 24 what should just released 2 weeks sooner like the iPhone 16 (and with that, it would be harder to fool the sheeps to only compare it with the already one year old iPhone 15..) how do you still only compare it with the one year old iPhone..? Like in 2019 when even Pixel had flagship chip, Note 10, iPhone 11 and Pixel 4 XL released.. "Note 24" is 5 gens later (Note 10 was right before Note 20), Pixel 9 also 5 gens later compared to Pixel 4, but iPhone 15 is only 4 gens later compared the iPhone 11 what released between the Note 10 and the Pixel 4 XL..

2 years software updates gotta be a joke, right? Why do some manufacturers still do this for their top of the line devices. For me Sony Xperia I VI would be great, but they have bad software support, too. Just for comparison, my iPhone 12 Pro released in 2020 will probably get the latest OS until 2026

@@onkelklaujo they save money; OS support requires software engineers to optimize it for that manufacture, then continually release patches. On the security side, security engineers need to constantly push patches. Both sides require resources to make that possible. But you can blame consumers for this, software is much more boring than what the latest hardware is, they couldn’t care less, hence why manufacturers can get away with this in 2024.

@@shejj7 a simple search would tell you security updates are important. Next thing you're telling me is that Windows 7 is still secure and we should turn off the firewall. Also what's the worth of a cheaper phone if you have to replace it after 2 years instead of e.g. 4 years with a phone like the OnePlus 12, which is only about 100-200 bucks more. Furthermore I don't how rooting would fix the issue, it just grants you root access, which doesn't fix security exploits the device might be vulnerable. In theory you can install a custom rom with a more recent patch (if this is possible with this device), but this probably will lead to some games not working, because they refuse to run when you unlock the bootloader.

In android getting the latest OS might not always be the best option. Some emulators don't work on android 13 and up. Oneplus doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are a lot of customers out there who need this kind of device. I'd love to have something like the zenfone or xperia 5 series that are easy to hold in one hand and comes with a headphone jack (and micro sd card slot). But just because others don't need an sd slot or headphone jack doesn't mean they can just say that no manufacturer should ever release phones that give me an option to have those. People have different priorities. It'd be good to respect that.

I wish there was a mini led display version for smartphones since I already have burn in issues with every oled device that I use. I like that the red magic gaming phones have diablo mode for overclocking and and gpu for more performance even though it will make the device hotter and drain the battery more. I use fast charging all the time and I leave my phone charging overnight while fast charging since my sony xperia 1 iv android phone has h.s. power control to bypass the battery since it powers the phone systems directly rather than charging the phone. The battery does not get charged when the feature is enabled. I also leave my phone at 100% all the time with battery care always enabled with h.s. power control always enabled both at the same time. I wonder if red magic will make a water resistant version like the asus rog 8 gaming phone since it has water resistance for a phone dedicated to gaming while it's also 2,500 nits as well as having led lights on the back of the phone. I wish the 2,500 nits on the rog 8 phone was also available for indoor mode so that there will always have the option to constantly have 2,500 nits not just at peak brightness. The older android phones during the micro usb era had outdoor mode to increase the display brightness even beyond the phone max brightness.

The thing is, while these gaming phones are very powerful theoretically for gaming, it has been proven that when compared to flagship iPhones like the 16 Pro and Pro Max (which has well optimized games), the iPhone has better frame rate, lower temps, and better resolution in games. Not to even talk about the fact that AAA games are being ported to the iPhone, which a dedicated gaming phone like this doesn't have(and for the foreseeable future). It's also curious that you didn't test any real games in this video-just benchmark, which doesn't translate into real world most of the times due to how different platforms handle tasks as well as optimization playing a big role.
