It's a budget phone. I got one. It was like 165 then and now it's cheaper. It's does what it needs to do for me so you do get what you pay for in comparison to these pocket laptops. It's something you'd get a teen until the prove they deserve a better one. lol

i have one of this sir.... it is normal for the battery drain fast? I just full charge then unplug after 20 mins without using, the battery percentage became 92..after an hour 78.... it's draining without using... (no open data/location/application)

Glad to hear that. Normally, one charge should give you around 4-6 hours of active screen use. Be sure to use Samsung's Smart Manager from time to time ;)

I just recently got my first Smart Phone, coming from having a Flip phone. It is the Samsung Galaxy J36V. I'm confused, my flip phone had long tones for incoming phone calls and text. With this new phone I know when I am getting a phone call because the ringtone is long. But for my text messages I only get a short sound no matter what sound I choose. I can't tell if I'm getting a text or say a Face Book or other notification. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or am I not doing something right?

I have this phone and holding it without a case is legit scary. It's very slim and with my version its very smooth on the sides as well, so you can accidentally drop this without a case. But i HAVE dropped it already with a case on, it fell on its screen and my case doesnt reach around the sides of the screen, and so far literally no scratches or even a dent. But I think you should just go the safe route and buy a case and you know, not drop your phone. Without a case = Pretty scary, probably would not recommend dropping it With a case = Pretty damn solid. Just try to not drop your phone in the first place

Doss Dips Tv hi! as far as durability goes, YES. i have dropped this thing from all heights onto all surfaces, even small puddles. have actually thrown it to prove durability and even when the back comes off and battery falls out, still works fine. has very little storage, i need to get a microSD, but it runs smoothly, gets the job done. the camera is significantly worse than the g5, honestly i hate this camera, dont take as many pictures of nature and landscapes as i used to because it just doesnt take good quality photos. i really am happy with this phone overall, though.

Phone Software always takes certain amount of memory space. For example, a 16gb Galaxy s5 only has 12gb of usable memory data. A 16gb iPhone 5s only has 10 gb of usable memory data. Sd cards are not affectes by this.

I think this is the original j3 model. the newer ones from virgin mobile have 1.5gb ram and 16gb storage. bought mine yesterday for $50 at best buy since was on sale. regular price is $180 and for a device like this $50 is a great price and definitely worth trying out. out of all other mid ranged phones I've tried this one is the best and ive tested over 20 different ones including phablets. has 1.5gb ram, snapdragon 400/410, adreno 306, 16gb storage with support for 128gb SD, 5mp camera and 2mp front. battery is great, can customize everything using themes without root. gaming is great and no lag anywhere and I play vainglory and modern combat series alot. Wi-Fi and data have no issues, comes with headset. this device is fast and for mid ranged device Samsung did something right. all it needs now is marshmallow or nougat
