The reason it did not work the first time was that the 2 LiPo batteries together in series gives roughly 7.4 volts which is way above what the iPhone 7 needs which is 3.7. The abnormality is what could have caused the boot loop since it didn’t know what to do with all the power at once. In fact you’re lucky you didn’t fry anything

These batteries must be in parallel and not in series. I'm not sure if the phone can handle more than 6 volts on the battery traces. Most smaller chips are limited at 5.5 volts at the absolute maximum ratings

I will say because I've experienced it that if your phone has a giant battery it'll be super heavy. I had a huge battery case for my phone that made my phone last like three or four days (usually 2.5) on full charge of both batteries.

dude if you solder the 2 battery cells it powers the phone at 8.4v instead of the 4.2v the BMS is rated for ! if the BMS didn't have a security you would have fry the all iphone... you probably did this experiment without really knowing the risks. Glad it didn't smoke haha

I just had this idea where the iPhone using (external) batteries instead of having internal batteries. It would've decreases the amount of heat when you're playing games and not to forget the weight too. Just wondering whether long cables/connector affect the power delivery to the logic board.

Energizer did this a while back with an 18,000mAh battery. I'm pretty sure the product failed, but it was also super thick and absurdly heavy for a phone.

This is extremely dangerous as the iPhone charges its batteries to 4,35V whereas standard Power bank and regular liion batterys only charge to 4.2V. By connecting the wrong bms you basically left the battery at the iPhones mercy. It will probably attempt to overcharge it and could destroy the cells, resulting in a blown Battery and a fire hazard. If you attempt this, watch the cell chemistry and rated voltage before soldering a foreign bms to it.

You wont actually get to use the battery , mostly because all phones have a software hardwired capacity in them , meaning the phone knows what it should have (lets say 4000mAh) if you put a 10000 mAh it will just measure how much it consumes until gets to 4000 then will say you have 0% even though you are well above 60% , i say this from experience (not on a iphone but should be similar) a few years back when i tried to make a 28000 mAh android phone , i had to root it and declare in the files what capacity it had , i dont know if you can do this with the iphone but good luck !! I like your videos.

I did the same with my lg phone, the connector has gone i used some copper wire to solder the positive and negative wires to the phone. It took me like 4 hours to solder 2 pieces of 1cm wire in it. And it is currently completely usable

iphone bms has a resistant check. so if you use 2 cells, that means you almost cut the resistant in half. that is the bad battery indicator.

your best bet is to poke a hole at the back for the wires to pass through. but!!! i suggest you/use those FLAT wires so that it will integrate better with the New battery cover. You can just design/create your own battery cover via 3D printer.

I actually did this with my iPhone 7. Drilled a hole in the back and 3d printed a case. I tried multiple different batteries, from 5000-10000. In the end, the bms board was too hard to get a solid connection with the solder to deliver proper voltage.
