Phonics "tsh" - isiXhosa

Nomawethu Sukani from Nkqubela Primary School does a phonic lesson with her Grade 1 class. She starts her lesson with a story and the learners have to identify the sound in the story. They have to answer questions about the story. She uses 5 steps to integrate other concepts as well. She teachers the new vocabulary with the "tsh " sound, she revises opposites in the story, she revises synonyms in the story and she does sentence construction. The class is divided into various ability groups and given different tasks. To conclude this lesson she reads with the class.
