Boris FX’ “Optics” is not a new suite of filters. To use a facile North American word, it is a re-branding of “DFT”, or Digital Film Tools’ suite of filters. For years this marvellous product was something of an industry secret. It was originally designed for After Effects & Photoshop, so I hope Boris continue to match the video filters with still photographic filters. The name Optics is something of a misnomer, as this suite of filters also contains digital keying, & compositing tools. I think Digital Film Tools was more apposite, but both consumers & corporate vendors seem to dislike ambiguity, & need to make everything childlike simple.

To each their own :) I just needed something to show what the plugin is capable of (and that was just the tip of the ice berg). What (or how much) you do with the plugin is really up to everyone individually :)
