I barely comment on any video, but your tutorial video is so fun to watch, I was laughing and taking notes down at the same time. I also like how you make the tutorial so practical like you gave examples of how to use slow shutter speed to shoot sparklers and car lights. Cause honestly they are all figures and meaningless to me if you don't give me 1 or 2 examples for what effects they can achieve. I'm just not that smart that I can figure out myself. Anyway, thank you so much and I will keep watching your tutorial!

Girl you FLY! Thank you so much for this video! I'm a beginner photographer and this video helped me understand better what all those terms mean. I appreciate the "Layman's Terms" description! Btw, do you have a video on black and white photography? I'm really into that style right now, and I'd love to learn about light settings for day and night black n white photos. You're a joy to watch Maya! Thanks so much!

This was a great video. I know this video is older, and you probably know this now, but....I figured i'd mention it for others watching. My understanding of the aperture labeling is that f-stops are actually labeled as "f/x", where "x" is one of those so-called numbers. So the reason you get a small opening at f22 or a large opening at f4 is because f/22 is smaller than f/4. Example: if "f" were 1, then 1/22 would be smaller than 1/4. But thanks again for this. Needed to refresh myself and your lighting tutorials are superb!!!

I say this as a current final year student for my photography degree. That, first off. Great video. Really simple. Really clear. And i know this isn't strictly relevant. But it would be worth mentioning that you don't want to go lower than 1/60th handheld. You can risk 1/30th, with a wider lense. And, i always use aperture priority. I just figured that if i always shoot wide open (f2.8) and at 1/60th. And just click down the aperture to line up with 1/60th if i need to. I am doing exactly the same equation as my camera on manual.
