learning a lot from what you present. I do specifically like your style of telling the story. I like the cut in action, for example when you bring up the camera for the shot and cut just after the action is initiated to more close up frame 🙂

I’m currently laying in bed on a Christmas break from work watching KZbin videos, I don’t really like my day job and I always say I never have time to focus on photography, but I haven’t picked up my camera gear in months even though it’s on the shelf right behind me. The type of photography I imagined doing (commercial), doesn’t inspire me any more even though my website only shows that type of photography, and I’m really unmotivated and I don’t know what I should do. I feel like I’m starting from scratch again, and deciding what type of photography I want to make. I’m doubting my photography ability, and I’ve lost the meaning and reason for why I got into photography. My last day I went out shooting for a few hours, I took 1000 photos, and only liked 10.

@jamesr8304 Hi James, first, I am so glad you wrote. I sometimes have downs with photography as well. Most of the time, I end up doing something else creative. At least for a day or so. Invariably, I always go back to photography . it's really like I portrayed in this little film. I pick up a camera, any camera and lens if there's not one attached and I will simply go out for a walk and shoot. I am a portrait photographer, but the combination of going out taking photos of the things I see in the same way tourist would - without the intention of creating any bangers or amazing photos - but simply pretty pictures kick starts something in me. Send me your site or your Instagram or Twitter. I'd love to see the photos you make.

@@oliscurra Hi Oli, I’m starting to wonder that it might not be photography related issues itself that’s making me feel this way, it could be other things in my life which are on my mind and distracting me from being in the right mood for photography. I also regularly have to remind myself that I’m still very much a beginner in the industry, so I don’t put too much pressure on myself to take photos I deem to be great. Every photo I take I remember the techniques I used for lighting etc, which I’m mostly learning from experimenting. In a strange way I don’t want to always rely on being ‘lucky’ with getting a photo, I want to understand what makes it a keeper. I messaged you on Instagram.
