In my opinion, I think you are the "Larry Chen" of portrait photography and one thing I appreciate about you and your videos is that you show us how control and communicate throughout the photoshoot. Always engage with the client and others. Pure dopeness!

I love my 28-70 f2 as well and your video demonstrates what a versatile lens it is… but oh my gosh it’s SO heavy! So much so I’ve just picked up the 28-70 F2.8 STM and it’s SUPER small by comparison… a great walk around alternative to the beast and despite being physically very similar to canons shallow-end lenses, optically it seems more on a par with L-glass! Of course for maximum shallow DOF, it’s the f2 all the way or other faster primes, but Canon are really filling the gaps in nicely :)

I’m VERY curious how that lens performs!

So far I’m very impressed but going to do some more pixel-peeping comparisons with the f2 and particularly interested in the long end sharpness which some accounts say actually gets sharper in contrast to most of Canons other zooms which seem sharper on the wide end… we’ll see. One thing I will mention is the peculiar feature of the camera being disabled until the zoom is extended to the starting 28mm position. In actual fact although you can’t key in aperture, shutter speed etc, you can still access the menus to change most other settings as well as any of the settings under the Q button, images can also be reviewed so it’s not completely disabled. And altho I’ve read people saying it’s a bit annoying, it depends how you think about it… for me it’s one small step to allow the lens to be EVEN smaller than it would have been if the barrel was fixed at that starting 28mm position 🤔 so it’s only 92mm long instead of 112mm. Obviously that’s less of an issue if you’re on a job and have an assistant etc, but as a compact travel companion that doesn’t seem to sacrifice IQ every little really does help 🎉

You make very good videos. (Sometimes I have to listen to individual parts twice because I didn't understand them so quickly (English is not my native language)). I also love my RF 28-70 2.0. I use it for all important shots. However, I have a question about your use of this lens. Why don't you use the lens hood? Especially with oblique incident window light. Is it too big for you?

Love the BTS videos on shoot days! I'm curious - how did you get your start in wedding photography? Were you a second shooter or did you just jump head first into it? I ask because I've always been interested in portrait and event photography, but have no real idea in how to dip my toes into the industry.

I was an assistant and second shooter for another photographer for 4-5 years before shooting my own wedding and then laster starting my own company :-) second shooting and assisting first is a must IMO!
