Brilliant photos, both pre- and post-dawn! And indeed, the exhilaration is indescribable when you get to such a beautiful location early in the morning, having fought off the urge to just roll over to the other side in bed and enjoy another couple of hours' worth of sleep. As for the gloves: they look really serious. I usually warm my hands by twirling and swinging the tripod while walking :-). But I'd definitely appreciate a pair of these when stationary and operating the camera. I remember getting my fingers numb in minus 8 Celsius, when touching the camera body became literally painful, it'd turned so freezing cold. It's also good to bear in mind that although keeping the extremities warm is always important, the cranium is a powerful heat sink that needs premium insulation.

i was only thinking earlier this week i hadnt seen you post lately .Hope you have been ok .Was really confused when I saw this video .I knew we have had bad weather this week but it hadnt been cold enough to snow .

The gloves look impressive but, I have to ask, why did you not wear them (the inner gloves) when you were taking the photographs?

I probably didn't wear the gloves while taking the photos because I wasn't feeling cold. There was barely any wind which meant that despite the snow, it wasn't that cold the morning I made the video.

Julian, do you happen to know if the DWR coating is PFAS based or is it Nikwax?

Hi Andy, unfortunately I don't know. Fire them an email...they are very responsive! :-)

@@jbairdexp indeed they were. They contacted their supplier who are PFAS/PFC free and use C0 Treatment.
