That's great news about your book, Kim, looking forward to reading your first published work. I have been following your KZbin for a number of years and have seen that you are very much in touch with the natural world around you, I know that this is what I will see and enjoy in your first book. From the cave in this video, my wife and I saw a Puffin, a Whale, a Bird of Prey, an Otter and a Kingfisher patiently waiting for its next meal. It is often said that people are gregarious and seek each other's company; but I think is this not always the case. We also need that quiet time with our thoughts to reflect and feel refreshed and I can't think of anything better than to let nature immerse you for a while.

Great video, and congratulations on your book. I could see most creatures you pointed out. What a fascinating cave. The one creature I spotted was at 3:31 just over your left shoulder. A big rock that looks like a chubby sheep with a dirty belly laying on its right side. You can only see its body and not the head. I enjoyed this hunt. Thanks for sharing.

Kim, I'm a bird watcher. It really didn't take me long to find what looks to me as a Woodpecker head. Here are the directions so you can find it. 1) Go to and stop at the 032-second mark of your video. 2) at that location, measure your height from the top of your head to the bottom of your shoe. 3) Now locate the entire photo's very center bull's eye. 4) From that point, mark off about 1.5 lengths you came up with in step number 2. 5) From the bull's eye point and going 1.5 lengths in the 10 o'clock direction, you'll find the woodpecker head-beak- and eye. With a bit more imagination you can see the body just below that. That was kind of fun!

Mythical Creatures. It took awhile to see this, but right at the beginning, time scale 08-11. Looking out the entrance, on the right hand side of arch, towards the top. A face of an older person, see the eye-noise and mouth. Looking as if face is watching over the cave.

I love doing things like this, with clouds and recently on a walk along the beach I managed to see and capture the stones, and pebbles that looked like either faces or animals. Within your video this week I saw lots like, a Pike, , whale, seal, Seahorse , Mythical faces and a bird that looked like a mythical sort of bird, Dragons, Crocodiles.

I saw a baboon and an iguana. It was hard to see animals because a beautiful lady was distracting me. Congrats on your book. With all your videos, you have taught me to see beauty in simple nature.

Firstly what an amazing place Kim, that knight rocks textures and colours actually looked like rusted metal....I loved the joy and excitement with your enthusiasm when you said "I am now an author" 😊 And yes I often see characters at times, also can't wait for the pre-order now, it would be wonderful if I had it in time to take to New Zealand with me.😊🙏

It certainly is, Brian! I love that you saw rusted metal in the knight. I can see it now, too. Fingers crossed - as soon as I have the physical proof from the printers it will be going on pre-sale.

My soul just loved this video! Felt like playing running and playing with all of these creatures 😍 And letting mind be in a state we unfortunately are not used to be in anymore, state of being and not doing. ❤ I really think the goat in the wall of the cave looked like Smrgol the dragon from the 70’s animated film Flight of Dragons. Congratulations on the book soon coming out❤. And greetings from Norway

I think caves touch the prehistoric part of our brain. It makes you think about our ancestors. In Australia the indigenous people have lived here unbroken for close to 60 thousand years and their Dreamtime stories are a connection to our distant human family. Caves have been referenced in everything from philosophy, religion and fiction. As always I really enjoyed your video and look forward to preordering your book.

Hi Kim. Isn't it amazing that when you really take the time to observe nature what you really can see that our normal busy lives normally stops us from seeing. I'm pleased I'm not the only one in this world that sees creatures & shapes in rock formations!! Do you think they are the spirits of creatures from ancient times? At times, when I slow down and observe, I can also see some weird & wonderful creatures in cloud formations - do you? I do see the shapes & colours in the rocks that you point out during the video, the hummingbird was very noticable, I also noticed these shapes: - 1m:10s - do you see the witch on a broom in the grey shapes under the word 'photographing'? - 1m:16s - I notice a small rock in the center of the video, just to the right of the elongated hole, this rock looks like a dinosaurs skull. And also to the left of this gap in the top left part of the image there's not only a small rock that resembles the outline of a NZ kiwi bird with its distinctive long beak, but also immediately above this small rock is a bigger, elongated triangular structure that looks like a dinosaur birds head with the black eye on the left and the pointy beak on the right. - 1m:33s - In the top-middle of the video there are two elongated rocks with a gap between that remind me of a slightly open whales mouth. - 2m:33s - Just to the left of your hand is a very wide, thin arc or 'U' shape that looks like a whale tail. (I think I've spent far too long in the polar regions 😅) - 3m:00s - When I pause the video, immediately to the right of your hand I see a snubbed nose Alligators head with the dimples in the rock resembling the scales. - 4m:23s - In the lower center of screen I see the profile of a sleeping dragons head with the eye and long snout. - 10m:39s - The shape you point out could be an Angel fish and immediately below this shape is another elongated & pointed formations that reminds me of a humpback whales front half. - 11m:30s onwards - Totally agree with you that there are so many shapes to interpret into magical creatures.... Anyway that's my observations, will be interesting to hear your thoughts on these? Thanks - Stu 😎
@kimgrantphotography3 ай бұрын
Wow, Stu - I am amazed by how much you have seen and shared here! Yes, I can see a number of things you mentioned. What a wonderful eye you have! You have asked some very thought-provoking questions. I am unsure what the faces and creatures are in the caves, but they certainly are magical places! I imagine they hold much energy and memories of the past. They long capture the interest of many imaginations. To me, entering a cave feels like entering another world. Yes - I see things in clouds a lot! I often see faces, dragons, hearts and animals. It's great that you also see these things. Certainly keeps life exciting :)

I find it so wonderful that photography/types of photography can be either totally immersive or completely disconnected. The photography in this video is so very immersive with the searches for images and shapes and other types of photography (photojournalism, wildlife photography, street photography, etc...) require one to remove themselves from the environment and become a spectator without distracting or influencing in any way. Great video and congratulations on the book!

Hi Kim, I live close to the coast of Oregon, U.S. and we have a few caves along the coast that I’ve had the fun of exploring. Unfortunately, they are all submerged at high tide so we don’t have images like the cave in your video. The ocean is a great eraser of rocks. Thanks for another well thought out video.

Pareidolia is the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one detects an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none. Not that there's anything wrong with such perceptions.🙂

Grazie. G.
