Photographing the King Tides

I finally photographed the King Tides!!! I spent the weekend at Cape Disappointment State Park, one of the most stunning locations on the Washington coast. I experienced the awe-inspiring king tides, hiked to another area that was on my list, and made an attempt to photograph the full moon.
Hopefully, this video inspires you to go out and capture images. And, plan like you're going to be there with 200 of your friends. LOL.

What an amazing place to experience. Glad you had a good time and is evident by your photos. Hard to say which photo is favorite. I enjoyed seeing all of them. Interesting selection of points of interests from the moon to clouds and waves etc. That was nice to see. I liked almost all the color photos and because of seeing the colors within the ocean/waves; the BW, although good for bringing forth the drama, prefer the color images. Great job capturing these wonderful images!!

@@naturemanmike Yeah, it was quite interesting. The king tides are a big thing and only occur a few times a year. But, other measurable factors also to take place. It’s quite interesting. 😆

That looks like a fun trip. I thought a lot of people showed up for the short eared owls in Skagit but I have never seen that many people up there like you had for the lighthouse picture. Definitely making me regret that I cancelled a trip there in December due to a scheduling conflict. We would have been there for the king tide and the storm. We like to “rough it” by staying at the Sou’Wester and getting one of their old cabins.

@@jeffolson4731 Definitely more people than up at Skagit. I couldn’t imagine the roads there if this many photogs showed up at one time. 😂 Aside from the crowds, it was a beautiful sight to see and experience.
