Absolute great vid with great pics. Three days after turning 14, the Great State of Texas decided to grant me a full driver's license. The very next day, I grabbed two wool blankets, a percolator coffee pot, some canned beans and chili and head off to Big Bend NP. 54 years later, I'm still going there, just a bit less hiking. My greatest memory was a 22 day hike along the River Road from W to E after returning home from my second combat deployment. Back then, you could weave in and out of Mexico and enjoy the great food and fun the river villages had to offer. Our kids have explicit instruction on where to park my ashes after my demise, which is down in the park. And...54 years later I'm still using the same 7-cup percolator to make coffee in!

I have never been the same since I’ve spent a few weeks in the big bend. After attending a funeral of a childhood friend in Terrilingu we spent a month hiking, meeting new friends and enjoying the total vibe. It is special place in my heart…

My boyfriend interviewed for a job in Midland today -- his first interview as a senior in college. I want to be encouraging, so I'm trying to get myself psyched up to enjoy living in West Texas (if that's where we end up moving.) I'm a grad student in fine art, studying painting, and it really helps to see the beautiful side of this region. I want us to live together after we both graduate, no matter where it is. I don't much care for oil fields, but the big sky is a huge plus. Thanks for this.

My favorite video from the channel so far. It feels like there’s a production team working behind the scenes. Love all of it… video, photos, astro, drone, editing, music selection and the story. The skills are really coming together here. Not sure if you’re looking to be a Sony Ambassador but this will no doubt be getting some attention. Nice work Sam (and team?) I search for great videos like this but they are rare so I find myself coming back to watch the older posts and rewatch the gems like this.

This is a huge compliment, thank you! No production team, just me nerding-out at the scenery in this remarkable place. I’ll try to keep improving on the production quality and plan to do something similar to this on some of the bigger remote trips like this 😀 Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, it makes this a lot more fun!

Thanks for watching and for the comment! You’re dead right, Glacier-Waterton definitely does and there are a few other big parks like Voyageurs, Isle Royale, Glacier Bay and Wrangell-St. Elias… probably still missing some. okay okay first of all - amazing pace and great looking shots. Voice over is soothing but not overly asmr :)) How did you get the shot in the car from the back seat? was the camera on a tripod or it was another type of grip? have been dreaming for this exact type of shot - although on much curvier roads..
@TheOtherSamMallory Жыл бұрын
I did it the slightly sketchky way... tripod! So if you do it on windy roads definitely strap that thing down because it's not very stable for turns!
