The D3200 is an ideal entry level DSLR camera to start with. It has many automated modes that will set the exposure up for you if you are not sure, and also can be used fully manually as you grow with your photography. Overall it has great image quality, and a nice high ISO for getting shots in low light situations. - Yossi

@ per haar. It would be a boring world if we liked everybody's photos. Jeff himself said it at 18:10 - some people don't like his pictures. He shoots for himself as we all should and for your clients if you are a pro. B&H continues to use Jeff because he is one of their most popular speakers. He is also a multiple Olympic shooter, so he is doing something right.

Jeff seems like a really great guy and I really enjoy hearing him speak. Thank you so much for uploading these! I do want to add that I cringed a little bit when he told the audience to focus/recompose. It's a wonderful technique... if you want the person's ears in focus.

I'm new to photography and loving it. I've been watching a lot of these seminars on you tube. My question is about Full frame vs crop cameras. I have a a rebel T3i. I am interested in landscape photography and wonder if spending the money on a wide angle lens is really worth it for use on this camera body? If it is worth it what lens do you recommend for this camera? Or a lens that, if i buy a full frame camera, would work well with both. tHanks and i really liked the video. I learned new things.
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
If you plan on staying with this camera, or upgrading to other APS-C cameras then it would be worth it to invest in a wider angle lens for your landscape work for this camera. You have to determine for yourself if you think you may be upgrading soon, and if so, to a full-frame or another crop-frame camera. There are not really any options that dually suitable when it comes to super-wide lenses?what?s wide on a crop frame is less so on a full-frame. It?s best to determine your immediate future camera, and purchase lenses based on that. In the meantime, see the link below for recommended wide angle options for the Rebel to consider. ? hi i'm a novice amateur photographer and i'm starting to experiment on the focus and recompose technique using single point AF. How good and how efficient is this technique when shooting non action shots? if i lock on the eyes then recompose my shot, would the eyes be tact sharp? thanks for the help.
@klace2010 жыл бұрын
As a general rule, the images would be sharp, yes. It is a bit tedious if you are moving around taking multiple shots of the one still object, because you have to focus and recompose all the time. But it does the job.
@littlewing6210 жыл бұрын
alright thanks so much. i'm also having fun with street photography, what focusing method would work well for that? i'm just starting to understand and take control of the camera's full potential, your comments and advise are golden for me.
@klace2010 жыл бұрын
littlewing62 Google is your friend. Fully learn your shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to gain a full understanding of how the camera works. Once you do, you can decide what photos you want to take. Are you taking a picture of the street with everything in focus? Are you taking a picture of an individual item or person? Once you understand the triangle, you can manipulate it to get the results you want. At the least, you can google 'Street Photography Tutorial' or something similar.

This is NOT 101. This is simply... a slideshow of look at how good I am at taking shots to an audience that are possibly new to photography. Within the first few minutes, you mention aperture and I am sure the majority of your class had no idea what you were talking about. You may be good at photography, but you have lots of work to do on how to teach people how to take shots.
@JG-bh9rz7 жыл бұрын

I really love what you guys at B&H are doing, uploading free seminars an so on, but why do you continue to bring on this guy? His pictures are terrible, totally uninspired, and without the slightest degree of aesthetics. Pretty much similar to those I took the first week I had my DSLR. He knows about the technical stuff, but a photographer he is not. I don't get it. Sorry!
