This is one of the not many photography channels I really appreciate on KZbin. Clear, professional, direct and very complete. And no Instagram or other sociale shit included. Thank you so much.

Hey Ray, I never ever comment on KZbin, but you had me make an exception. Your videos are crisp, to the point and artistic and your voice is soothing. I feel like I am hearing my late grandpa speak. I wish I could work with you. I am from the magical land of India. Please keep posting. You gave me a different perspective to look at things in photography and life. Thanks for being my mentor.

I just subscribed. It's rare to see a photo channel who focus on composition and not on gear. Thank you for your time.

This was excellent! I've scanned more than a few video tutorials. This is the only one that took me on an experience (even though it was on the computer) which is exactly the way it would happen. Great way to teach, focus on one compositional element and go on a visual journey displaying it through numerous scenarios. I will certainly check out your other videos.

I've been struggling with this. I appreciate your timing, I just joined a photography challenge for the month of June, and it has been just that, a challenge. Right now we are "FILLING THE FRAME" ha ha, you just did one on that so I had a leg up! You have given me some wonderful ideas, we are just going thru the color wheel this week, its been interesting and forces me to get my camera out every day! I think I will send my 2 paired up'buddies" your tutorial on "filling the frame". I am starting to get it, and see that they are not. I LOVE your tutorials, they really are helping me. BTW, I broke down and bought a light box, and I LOVE the effects I got with it (only used once so far, with a bouquet from the yard, but really love the effects) See what you've done! Thankyou so very very much for your shares and kind lovely soothing voice that makes it seem easy and not a challenge. :)

Hi there and thank you so much for all the nice words. Great to hear you are picking up your camera most days. It's the only way to really "get it". Challenges are fun and can help improve our photography rapidly. Interesting about your new lightbox. It sounds like you're having a ton of fun which puts a big smile on my face. Take care and keep on experimenting.

Hi Ray, Greetings from India! I have seen many photography videos online. And, I must admit that your videos are absolutely clear, simple, and that's why they are very intriguing. You give out such wonderful information in an -easy-to-understand manner. I am also a photographer, but for living I work as a writer. I feel like working as an assistant for you. Learning under your guidance. And, seriously if I get someone like you, I'm sure it be great. I can already imagine the exciting journey ahead. Haha... Have a great day, Ray. Regards, Ricky

Visual Art Photography Tutorials Thanks a ton, Ray. Any tips on how to turn photography into a profession? Or, may be earn a little out of this passion? Would appreciate your wise words.

Hey Ricky. In today's world, most pro photographers make money in many different ways. Years ago, photographers made money selling their images in print form. That model has dried up to a great degree with the advent of the digital world. Most pros may lead workshops, teach online, lead photography travel tours, sell books, create calendars, do wedding and event photography etc etc etc. Basically you've got to have your hands on a whole lot of different things. Since you're a writer, you may want to combine your writing with photography. Just an idea. Have a great day Ricky.
