I’m going to let you in on a little secret... Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it, don’t wait for it, just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men’s store, a cat nap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee.

I always knew there is more to "Twin Peaks" than doughnuts, cherry pie and "damn fine coffee" (Dale Cooper should travel to Spain, it's even better there!). I remember watching Twin Peaks when it first aired and waiting a week between episodes. It's not lost any of its impact since then. I notice Lynch uses symmetry in many shots (e.g. at 1:33). However, instead of giving a calm feeling, he uses it to emphasise tension. Great choice of material to look at. Of course, you should have been eating cherry pie!

Subbed. Enjoyed your take, and then very impressed by your work. Just watched TP + TP2017 + Mulholland Drive. 90% of the TP2017 photography was so awful that I wondered if they'd used sketch footage that hadn't been intended for final cut, but clearly Lynch has produced beautiful work before so it may have been a kind of subversive repulsion technique (fine for a short film, but for twenty-ish hours, I disapprove). Mulholland Drive, on the other hand used tight floating frames which felt rich and sumptuous.

I think on some of the films you mentioned some footage was used on purpose and if you dive into rabbits or inland empire some of the “sketch footage” I think might be more of an artistic choice. Thank you for watching & cheers for subscribing
