VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Aaawww yeah, boyee, we out here shootin' more of that rare Polaroid Polapan 51HC 4x5 peel apart film. And I got some abandoned buildings for you on 6x17 Kodak Portra, too. Old sun-bleached motel signs, an abandoned bowling alley, and a lone ice shack. These babies were BEGGIN' to be photographed. Deserts + analog film photography = GOOD.

again superb. I wouldn't shoot film. It can be special, medium format esp. But too many if's and but's. I can't do my own color. BW is easy but why ? My digital files easier to see, no fluffing surprises. Polaroid a bad word for me! My country was banned from buying Polaroid! I cheered. Different look to my film. Expensive and wasteful. I taught Polaroid workshops in Canada.! I was never happy with results. SX-70! My old Rolleiflex negatives printed 6x6" were so beautiful. Still my standard. your work Nick is great! Lots for folks to learn. Never fall short in presentation of one's work.Bravo!

There is nothing quite like a night in Gila Bend! Just kidding! About 8 years ago I spent well over 100 nights at the Space Age Lodge in Gila Bend while overseeing a job on the nearby Barry M. Goldwater Range! Sunsets in Gila Bend rarely disappoint for a good photo opportunity. Nice video...enjoyed as always!

Oh wow, 100 days at the Space Age place? That had to be a bit of an endurance test. I ate at the restaurant a couple summers ago and probably won't try to follow that up 99 more times.

Nick! You are one of the only creators (and only photographer) I genuinely love to sit down with a hot cup of tea and watch. I'd love the zine+video combo, but the postage to Australia is MORE than the zine itself. Postage comes to $50AUD which is more or less what a photography book would cost here. crying emoji.

I have lost count of how many similar 2 star motels I've stayed at between working for a touring band and then my own photo road trip adventures. Oddly, I stayed at what ostensibly should be a dump near Bryce Canyon a few nights ago and had a really good sleep. Then at a much nicer place, tossed and turned. Go figure. I'm never going to look at that ice/water place the same again next time I pass through Gila Bend.

Nick, I'm very glad I signed up for the extended version! You're a great example of being resourceful and accomplishing tasks. Great to see how you do it! Not to mention your creativity. I liked your first 6x17 pano shot, by the way, the Mexico insurance building flanked by the tall saguaro and the tall "hey, we're here!" flags. The red building and all is over-the-top compared to your normal style, but it's a cool shot! I was also glad to help pay for how much I've learned from your online videos. Though, I don't shoot film, it's still all been interesting and inspiring. Perhaps you should tell people how much work and how many hours went into making this video. Only those who watch the four hours to the end will know. I hope you are able to market this somehow to recoup all you put into it, and so you can keep on doing these. It's great to be a part of your unique adventure! God bless!

It's been a while since I visited, but you're up to standards, thank God. The story of the lonesome photo-artist is still captivating. That said, I can't help wondering, you being an architecture photographer professional, if you didn't miss an opportunity for a 6x17 of the Copper Sands Motel (in the right light of course). Maybe not, but there was a couple brief flashes of the building that looked intriguing. Love the show... keep going, don't stop,

i have a question, at the last secen where you are pulling up to your drive way, there's a cut, is that specificly to avoid the video tripod showing up on the car's paint's reflection? another one is at 11:15 in the video you were sitting beside the car and the driver side door was open, is it open because you want to avoide the video camera being in frame? :)
